The space 2- bedroomed holiday apartment to let in Jerez de la Frontera (Casco Antiguo). Description: The apartment is situated in the centre of town in a quiet street ,just off the main square. The building is new but it is built in the style of a typical Andalusian house , centring on a patio with arches around it.Everything – shops , wineries, monuments, bars and restaurants – is within walking distance; in fact, the most important church in Jerez backs onto the building. The apartment consists of the following rooms: Large sitting / dining room with two sofas ,digital tv and dvd , comfortable dining area , large windows . Smallish but modern kitchen , fully equipped. Store cupboard basics and cleaning products are supplied. Double bedroom with large built–in wardrobe . Second twin - bedded room also with built-in wardrobe. Bathroom with shower and full length bath . There are wood floors throughout and the flat has double- glazing in all windows. THE CITY OF JEREZ . Situated in the south-west of Spain, between Seville and Cadiz, Jerez is the place for you if you want to experience the real Spain without sacrificing the convenience of modern life. If you are tired of the English pubs of the Costa del Sol but don’t fancy languishing in a draughty farmhouse on a mountain-top, try Jerez. Jerez is a medium–sized city, full of attractions for the visitor but which retains its essentially Spanish character. First of all, of course, it’s the home of sherry, and a visit to at least one of the local bodegas (wineries) is a must. Visits always end in a tasting session, possibly accompanied by a tapa. Jerez is also famous for its horses, so equestrian enthusiasts can visit the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art to see the famous dancing horses, or the prestigious stud, Hierro del Bocado, to see a very different, much more spontaneous show with mares and their foals running free, The city’s third claim to fame is flamenco: Jerez is reputed to be the birthplace of flamenco and many of Spain’s top singers and dancers are Jerezanos. In Spring there is an internationally famous flamenco festival which attracts followers from all over the world. There are also restaurants where you can dine and watch flamenco shows, and “peñas flamencas” – private flamenco clubs where admission is free and you can have a drink and, if you’re lucky, see local gypsies singing and dancing just for their own pleasure. But apart from all these obvious tourist attractions, the most attractive aspect of Jerez is simply its daily life – the endless tapas bars which offer all kinds of fare from basic home–cooking to nouvelle cuisine, the squares with palm trees and fountains, the narrow streets and surprising hidden gardens of the old town, the hospitality of the people … the fact that you don’t really have to do anything to enjoy life here. VISITS As well as the equestrian centres and the wineries mentioned above, you can visit the Cathedral and the many beautiful churches in the town centre, the Alcazar (Moorish castle) with its gardens and the Camara Obscura, various museums, a very prestigious zoo- and, of course, the shops! Help will be given with making phone bookings if necessary. FLAT SLEEPS 4 PEOPLE ONLY. Access to shared sunroof and patio. Constant hot water , ceramic hob. Cot available on request, beach towels now provided.A Spanish mobile phone (prepaid) is available for guests from outside Spain, for local calls only. Climate: More than 300 sunny days per year ;average daytime temperature 16C in winter , 32C in summer – but some cold days are possible in Jan and Feb. I live very close , so I’m normally on hand to receive guests myself and to help and advise if necessary, with the experience of many years living here. I will also provide written details about how to reach the flat when entering Jerez from different directions. If you have ever tried to find your way round the city by car you will realise how important this is. Ryanair has budget flights to Jerez. My priority is to make my guests feel at home in Jerez, so I like to look after them by providing books, DVDs, basic products for cooking and cleaning, complete sets of towels, including extra large bath towels, for each guest etc, etc. I enjoy receiving guests of all nationalities, many of whom return - some again and again! Guest access Shared roof terrace for drying clothes, underground car park with lift to ground and first floors. Other things to note Spanish legislation requires guests to show passports or ID cards on entering, for registration purposes. In addition, hosts are now required to ask for additional information, such as guests’ home address, phone number and email. This applies to all guests, including children.
