Large farmhouse by fjord near Bergen, incl. boat

This place combines: * Peacefulness and privacy * Experience of nature (i.e. fishing, mountain hiking, sunbathing, amazing views) * A great location for visiting different attractions, such as the Sognefjord (1.5 hours) or Flåm (3 hours). * Activities and equipment for children * LOTS of space! The house is located in a tiny village called Sundsbø - 1 hour by car from Bergen. Supermarkets (open Mon-Sat 7am-11pm) and other shops just 5km from the house. The space HIGHLIGHTS: A large, modern house with lots of space in a very peaceful countryside area close to Norway's second largest city, Bergen (1 hour by car). The rental is located on an old farm (details below). Perfect for families with children or groups of friends etc. If you are fond of nature, hiking, fishing, and would also like to make day trips to places such as the city of Bergen, Hardangerfjord, the island Fedje or the Sognefjord - this place will suit you very well. The Sognefjord is one of the most popular attractions in Western Norway, and within only 1.5 hours by car from the house, you may experience it! ACTIVE OR LAID-BACK HOLIDAYS? Here you are surrounded by nature and can enjoy quiet and/or active days at the farm by the fjord. If you travel with children, they will find opportunities for activities within the house (billiard/table tennis, toys, TV-loft room, Wifi), right outside the house (trampoline, outdoor bath-tub), in the near environment (fishing crabs at the waterfront, for instance, or climbing in the self-made outdoor playground nearby). You can go for a boat trip - which is very enjoyable also if you don't like fishing - the nature around is wonderful, as you can see from the pictures. If you prefer active holidays, you can find a hiking trail with magnificent view directly from the house and further hiking trails in the area. There is an arificial grass soccer field and discgolf(frisbee) facilities 5 km from the house. A COMFORTABLE STAY There are 3 floors in the house which offers you plenty of space and facilities to enjoy during your stay. The house has been totally modernized throughout the last few years, including two new bathrooms and a completely new kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the tools you should need for preparing and enjoying your meals. It includes a large fridge, a dishwasher, coffee-maker, micro wave, cooking space (induction), oven. At the entrance on the ground (1st) floor, you will find a wardrobe with plenty of storage for jackets, shoes and other equipment, and there are empty drawers on all floors for storage of stuff during your stay - as well as lots of further space for storage on the upper (3rd) floor; for suitcases for instance. THE SPACE Besides from a large living room and kitchen area, the house has six bedrooms, two on each of the three floors. Five of the six bedrooms has a double bed. See photos and further details below. There is also a home working/ office-area, a saloon space for hanging out in the evenings on the ground floor with a full-sized (8") billiard/pool table. There are two bathrooms (with shower) in the house as well as a space with washing machine and dryer. In the house you also find a separate TV-room on the upper (3rd) floor. The TV is not connected to cable TV, but has HDMI and iPhone friendly cables so that you can use it as a monitor for your own devices. Outside you find garden furniture - tables and chairs, a coal-driven barbeque, and an outdoor bath-tub (heated by wood). A FARM WITH ANIMALS The house is part of an old farm, run by my grandparents back in the old days. Currently, we have sheep and goats on the farm - and chicken during the summer holidays. You're welcome to walk around anywhere on the farm, in the surrounding woods or use the canoe or boat to get onto the islands just across the boathouse. Just remember to close the gates to the fences so the sheep and their lambs don't get out! PRACTICAL INFORMATION Bedlinen and one set of towels (one small and one large) per person is included in the rental price - duvets and pillows are provided. The use of a boat as well as a canoe is included. Life vests are mandatory, these are available in the house in various sizes from babies to 100+ kilos. Fuel for the boat is provided at arrival, you just re-fill what you used. The key for the boat is already placed in the entrance area of the house when you arrive (including a simple description of how to run the boat). CHILD FRIENDLY! Children are very welcome here, and we do our best to provide them with equipment that makes the stay as comfy and enjoyable as possible for them - and for their parents! Toys for children are available in the kids' room, as well as in the cupboards in the living room. One high chair (the classical white one from IKEA) is available, as well as the baby björn chair on one of the pictures. More high chairs are possible upon request. In the kitchen, you will find child-friendly cutlery for kids (plastic, from IKEA). Two toddler beds are available (main floor and upper floor). If you are travelling with small children, suitable bedlinen, duvets and pillows will be provided also for the baby/toddler beds. All windows are child-secure. Other equipment: A large-sized trampoline as well as some outdoor games such as boccia, badminton, soccer goals etc are available (shared with the owner´s house and not available in winter). Guest access You have (private) access to all the areas of the house as in the description above. Other things to note You're welcome to walk around anywhere on the farm, in the surrounding woods or use the canoe or boat to get onto the islands just across the boathouse. Just remember to close the gates to the fences so the sheep and their lambs don't get out! Sheets and duvets for the beds (including for the baby bed with a few days' notice) and towels will be provided. You will put on the bed linen yourself and put the used sheets and towels back into a bag before leaving. End-cleaning after check-out is mandatory (and included in the total price you pay); but be aware that you are expected to leave the house in a tidy and proper condition. Clean and tidy the cutlery before you leave, and take out the trash to the bins outside. Internet is provided in the house, however, due to the remote location, the speed is not as good as in the cities. Basic surfing is well functioning.
