It is suitable for couples, friends and families who prefer spending their vacation in a beautiful quiet home as if it was their own vacation house, instead of renting rooms in hotels and use them just for their night's sleep. It's not the building itself that adds the most value to the property, although we are constantly renovating it and improving whatever we can year after year. Its value and the excitement it creates in all our guests is that staying at Villa Chara is an experience. The interactions with the owners, Georgios and Fotini, the views from the rooms, the balconies and the veranda, the location and the serenity it offers is unmatched, and that's why most of our guests always come back and most of our new guests are referred from past guests. We have guests who have been choosing Villa Chara for their vacation every year for the past 10+ years. Other things to note There is a separate apartment on the ground floor of the villa, with 2 bedrooms, living room with full kitchen, full bathroom, AC, 3 TVs. It is available to accommodate larger parties and is also listed on AIrbnb. It might also be used by different parties at our discretion. Until 1925, the island was a metohi (church property) of Holy Monastery of Vatopedi, of Mount Athos, then inhabited mainly by 2-3 monks. In 1925, the island was vested to the refugees who came from Asia Minor, and specifically from the islands of Propontis (Galleme, Passalimani, Skoupia). Coming from these areas, which were neighboring with Constantinople, the refugees brought with them their culture, customs and tradition.
