OB Retreat is your ideal accommodation for family, friends & colleagues to get together. Whether you’re here to explore the city, attend meetings, celebrate a special occasion, or simply relax, OB Retreat is set up to make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Great views, easy walking distance to Oriental Bay beach, city, cafes, Te Papa, Tākina Convention Centre, TSB Arena, Sky Stadium, Mt Victoria & parks. OB Retreat - quiet and private 6-bdrm, 2 bath home that can accom <15 guests. The space OB Retreat is set amongst some grand homes of Oriental Bay with beautiful bush, beach & city walks at your doorstep. OB Retreat is your "home away from home". The balcony is a great place to relax & enjoy the view any time of day. Five of the six bedrooms have Queen beds. One bedroom has two single beds that can be zipped together to make a Super King. We also have 3 foldout beds that can be set up in 3 of the rooms if you require separate sleeping arrangements for singles. Plus the 2 couches in the lounge can be slept on! Please note, there is an extra cost per stay of $15 for each foldout bed required. This will be charged separately once sleeping arrangements are confirmed. We have 2 PortaCots - please bring your own bedding. Babes in arms stay free. Please be mindful that the balcony outside does not have a barrier and there are steps that you will want to ensure your baby doesn't go down. There is a cost for infants (toddlers). Please advise number of infants when booking (refer House Rules). Guests say staying "home" at OB Retreat is a pleasure. You have all the amenities on your doorstep i.e., bush, beach & urban walks, harbour view plus easy access to essential services. Guest access Oriental Bay is right by the harbour. OB Retreat is one street back from the bay providing a quiet retreat. The main entrance is via a short private path leading to 24 steps that take you to the front door. The extra elevation rewards you with stunning views! We have two parks for average sized vehicles on our car deck further up the street that you can use by arrangement. Parking on the street is also an option. It is free after hours or during the weekend/public hols or the first two hours during the business day. Parking permits are $18 per day & can be purchased at the local dairy. Please let us know how many vehicles you will have at time of booking so we can make appropriate arrangements. Check in/out times flexible if no "back2back" bookings. You're welcome to drop off bags prior to check-in. Other things to note We welcome up to 15 guests. Base price covers first 6 guests. More than 6 incur extra costs p/person p/night. We appreciate confirming numbers for groups can be a challenge. If so, you're welcome to book the minimum number to secure your dates. Should your group increase after the booking is made the additional guest costs (including children/infants) will need to be advised & paid before/on arrival. We do not allow non paying guests to use OB Retreat without prior approval. Depending on the circumstances, there may be a cost per extra person (we are happy for you to have a few guests for dinner). Communication is essential to avoid an unnecessary situation. Should we discover non paying guests are using OB Retreat without prior approval, the full additional cost per person will need to be paid or you risk being asked to leave. OB Retreat is definitely not a "Party House". If this is your intention - OB Retreat is not for you. AirBnB has a global ban on all parties and events at AirBnB listings, including a cap on occupancy at 16. Read AirBnB's Party and Events Policy for more info. We live above OB Retreat and have a security camera outside OB Retreat that may be activated if we are alerted to any concerns. Cancellation. OB Retreat attracts large groups who tend to book more than a month in advance so we have a "Firm" cancellation policy as the Moderate option doesn't give us enough time to secure another booking. We are, however, happy to discuss your situation and consider a full refund for exceptional circumstances. We pay GST to IRD which is included in the cost. If you are a business make sure you get an invoice from AirBnB so you can claim it back.
