Laboe The idyllic Baltic Sea resort of Laboe (approx. 5500 inhabitants) is picturesquely located at the exit of the Kiel Fjord on the eastern shore. The former fishing village has developed into a popular holiday and seaside resort. Laboe is an old place and was first mentioned in 1240. The name Laboe derives from the Slavic "Lubodne", which means "Swan place". And even today, the swan is the heraldic animal of Laboe. The long, fine sandy beach slopes very flat to the fjord, so it is particularly recommended for families with small children. The adventure pool is located directly on the beach promenade.
