Casa Panda is in the very heart of Merida - one block from the lovely church, plaza and market of Santa Ana and 1.5 blocks from Paseo de Montejo, the magnificent main boulevard with museums, monuments, restaurants and spectacular old homes. No need for a car, as everything you need is within easy walking distance. The home is large enough for family groups but cozy enough for 2 couples to share. With elegantly designed indoor and outdoor space, you will have all you need to enjoy Merida. The space Casa Panda was restored by an acclaimed local architect and features furniture by Yucatan Custom Furniture, lighting by Takto and art from a variety of talented Merida artists. With three spacious bedrooms, it is large enough for family travel. And two separate outdoor spaces allow for cool living. The entire house is on one level...no stairs to navigate! The house is close to Santa Ana and Paseo de Montejo, with market, restaurants, art galleries and museums within easy walking distance. Yet it is located on a quiet side street, enabling its guest to enjoy Merida's many attractions in a luxurious and peaceful setting. You enter into entry hall and large living room with a comfortable sofa to enjoy some TV. From the living room, you can access the interior garden with hanging plants and fountain or the first guest bedroom with a king sized bed. The first guest bedroom can also access the interior garden. After the first guest bedroom is the guest bathroom as well as another spacious bedroom with two full beds. There is a tv in this room -- we call it the "kids room." The kitchen/dining area is accessed from the interior garden, so light floods into this room both from the interior garden and the back patio/pool area. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need if you want to cook. Purified water is provided, as well as coffee. The refrigerator has ice made from purified water as well, so no need to worry. We provide you with basic kitchen equipment and appliances including a toaster and coffee machine so that you can fuel up with a satisfying breakfast to start your day. Coffee, creamer and sugar is provided -- no need to run to the nearest mini-mart for these basics. The master bedroom is in the very back of the house with an ensuite bath. The spa-like master bathroom has a green space with an open roof to let it sun, which makes it feel like there is an outdoor shower even though the room is completely private. The house features custom made furniture from Yucatan Custom Furniture, furniture and lighting from Takto as well as antiques and artwork made by Merida’s local artists. Guest access All of our guests are welcome to the entirety of the home and have access to use anything on the property including the kitchen, pool, and any other amenities. The house is not shared with any other occupants or pets, so you can enjoy privacy during your stay. Extras - Your own washer/dryer within the unit - Cooking essentials so that you can cook your own meals when you feel like staying in - Unlimited purified water - Every bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers - High thread count and premium cotton bedding selected to ensure a good night’s rest - Hi-speed wifi is available throughout the house - Bluetooth speaker so you can listen to your own music - 4 free beers - so you start start your vacation immediately upon arriving! Other things to note Check in is available after 3pm. Check out is before 11am. We may be able to accommodate an early check-in if availability allows. (Let us know if you would like you drop off your bags early so that you can enjoy Merida while we get the house ready for you) We allow smoking on the balconies and any of the outdoor areas, but it is prohibited inside the property. Please respect the property. We love Casa Panda and we are sure you will too! Deposit: A deposit of $500 is charged and held when the reservation is made to cover any damage during the stay. An additional security deposit will be required for stays longer than one month. Maid fee: For rentals in excess of 1 week, weekly cleaning as well as pool maintenance will be provided at no extra charge. Contact us if you are interested in additional cleaning for an extra fee. Electricity is included for stays of 2 weeks or less; and for stays of longer than 2 weeks, no electricity is charged unless the usage greater is USD$3 a day for the 1BR or 2BR homes, or USD$5 a day for the larger homes. Pet fee: One small (under 15kg) pet is welcome, but the guest is responsible for all damage caused by their pets. An extra pet fee of $75 will be charged. Extra guests fee: Each guest after 10 will incur an additional fee of $15 per night. Furniture and décor from pictures may differ.
