Description
A lovely bright seaside house, 200m from the beach and Hove lawns. On a quiet, friendly street a very short walk from just about everything - cafes, restaurants & bars, playgrounds & parks, shops, galleries & theatres. 10 mins walk along the seafront to the West Pier, Brighton Centre & i360. The house has plenty of space and light, great for families, groups of friends, couples and business travellers. We're very happy that many guests see at as "their" Brighton home and keep coming back. The space The house was our family home for 12 very happy years. It's a warm, sunny home and the rooms are all a good size. We've renovated the whole house and try to keep everything in really good condition but it still has a nice quirky character. There's a great sofa, big enough for 8 people to relax. The dining table will sit up to 8 people and the kitchen has everything you'll need to cook a proper meal, basic ingredients (tea, coffee, milk, olive oil etc.) are provided. Though you'll probably want to try the huge selection of really good food available in the cafés, pubs and restaurants on your doorstep. There's also a dishwasher so cleaning up is easy. The 2 bedrooms on the 1st floor can be set up with king size beds or 2 singles. The 2nd floor bedroom has a king size bed, and the attic room has 2 single beds. The attic bedroom is accessed by a 'spacesaver' staircase it takes a little getting used to and isn't really suitable for anyone infirm or very young children. All the beds are made up with nice white cotton bed linen and duvets, everything is freshly laundered for each booking but I think life is too short to iron sheets (it's also really expensive). If it's something you have strong feelings about I can arrange to have it done. I have had the occasional problem with spills etc. on the linen if this happens please let me know and we can sort out the cleaning or a fair replacement cost. There's a roof terrace at the back of the house that get's plenty of afternoon / evening sun, lovely to kick back and have a coffee or glass of wine on. There's a good WIFI connection, a smart TV that you can access your Netflix account on, iPlayer etc. And a hifi in that you can connect up to your phone or iPad or just listen to the radio if that's all too hi-tech. I have a high chair and a cot stashed away in the attic just ask and I'll dig them out. There are lot's books, most of the classic board games and some jigsaws. If you would like a babysitter my daughter may be ablel to help out. Guest access You have exclusive use of the whole house, including the roof terrace. Other things to note The house is on 4 floors and the staircase to the attic is a 'spacesaver' -please have a look at the picture, so may not suit elderly or infirm guests. Parents of small children should also be aware of this. Please also take care getting out and coming in from the roof terrace, there is a flip down step but it is still a bit tricky and watch your head! Please be considerate to the neighbours, there's a basement flat below and it's a small usually quiet street and noise does travel. I haven't ruled out hen nights but please be aware that it really isn't suitable for loud groups. Well behaved dogs are welcome but please let me know in advance and don't let them onto any of the beds. Also please do not leave dogs unattended for any length of time. I can usually arrange a dog sitter if you want to go out for the evening. My wife says I should also warn you about the seagulls. They are quite noisy and sometimes nest on the roof, personally I like them, it's the soundtrack of the beach.
