Ground-floor apartment in the converted stable of an 18th-century farmhouse on a hill near the sea. Sleeps up to 6 people (2 single beds, 2 armchair beds, 1 sofa bed). Kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom; patio, garden, barbecue and secure parking. Less than 5 minutes from the beach by car, about 45 from the mountains, 20 from Pescara airport and 2 or 3 hours from those of Rome. The space The apartment stands on a hill which overlooks the sea amid vineyards & olive groves in small hamlet now becoming a holiday area because it is near the beach. It has old wooden doors, brick arches and vaulted ceilings, and has been carefully restored in a simple, rustic, open-plan style to respect the original structure of the building. Sleeps up to 6 people (2 single beds, 2 armchair beds, 1 sofa bed). The bedroom is separated from the living room at night by screens. The living room has a large dining table with seating for 8 people. There is a big bathroom with washbasin, bath, shower, toilet and bidet; a small kitchen with sink, draining rack, gas hob, cooker hood, microwave oven and fridge-freezer. A child's cot and high chair are available. Outside is a sheltered seating area looking on to the back garden, with a barbecue and secure parking. No smoking in the apartment please and we regret that we do not accept pets. Guest access You will have at your disposal the whole apartment as here described, the patio, the back garden, the barbecue and the parking area. In addition to the ground-floor flat we also let a converted barn at the bottom of the garden. That too can also be seen on this website. Other things to note The apartment lies midway between the popular seaside resort of Francavilla and the medieval port of Ortona, with its Aragonese castle, promenade overlooking the port and cathedral reputed to house the remains of St Thomas the Apostle. Here too is the Enoteca Regionale where you can taste and buy a wide range of Abruzzese wines, or sit over an aperitif and antipasti before dining in one of the excellent seafood restaurants. There are plenty of shops (butchers, bakers, confectioners, fishmongers, etc.), and supermarkets, bars, restaurants, banks, post offices, petrol stations, some a short walk away, all in easy reach by car.
