La Correze, Charming Beaulieu Apartment

Charming 1 bedroom apt. located on the 2nd floor of this 15th century colombage home. Lying on a cobblestone lane in the heart of medieval Beaulieu you are in walking distance to the cafes, restaurants, shops and the river for fishing or going for a paddle in a canoe! The space The house was left to ruin when we purchased her. We spent 5 years on an extensive renovation and now she proudly houses 3 one bedroom fully furnished and equipped apartments. Each one has its own unique charm, La Dordogne, La Correze and on the top floor is La Charente. We have kept as many of the original interior features as possible. In this apartment the massive cantou fireplace with its stone sides and large wooden mantle now houses the kitchen units. The lobby and stairwell back wall is of pointed stones. The colombage facade is original except where the bedroom is as this part of the house had fallen away. This apartment is bright and airy and overlooks the lane of medieval houses and part of the church square. Living room and bedroom windows are with shutters. We hope you enjoy the experience of living in a medieval village in a 15th century house with its insides offering you all the modern comforts and conveniences. Guest access Entry to the apartments is at the side of the property. Each apartment is fitted with an interphone but you must take your keys with you so you can re-enter if you all go out together. There is a communal stairwell to level one and two. Other things to note During summer there are occasional night markets and a vide grenier/brocante held in the old centre and near the house. Also during July and August on Monday evenings there is a Marché de Producteurs held on the riverside by the Chapel. You can purchase food and volunteers will BBQ it for you. There are benches and tables, a beverage tent and live music.
