200 Year Old Riverside Cottage + Garden

Our riverside cottage is close to everything you need in the lovely village of Braunton, yet feels a million miles from everyday life. This is a 200 year old cottage with a cosy contemporary feel. We have 2 double rooms with an extra fold out bed/ travel cot possible. This makes a perfect base to surf, walk, cycle (right next to the Tarka trail) or just chill in the lovely garden or in front of the woodburner. Couples, friends, children and a well behaved dog all welcome. The space Upstairs we have 1 kingsize and 1 double bedroom- everything you need is provided. The comfy beds have feather bedding (please ask if you require hypoallergenic) and blackout blinds for a good nights sleep. Downstairs there is a bathroom, kitchen and living room with dining table for 4. There are masses of dvds, puzzles, games etc for a cosy evening in with the woodburner. Because this is an old cottage the stairs ARE steep (unsteady people need to take care), but they have a handrail and stair guards can be installed if you have small children or dogs. Outside is a laundry room with washer, dryer and a sink for wetsuits etc, there is a selection of bits and bobs for the beach/ deckchairs for the garden etc to borrow. We also have a decked area with table and chairs and an enclosed garden to play/ sunbathe in. CHILDREN We can also cater for children, let us know and we can provide either a fold out single bed OR travel cot in the Kingsize room, or the travel cot in the double room. We can add a stairgate at the bottom of the stairs to deter little climbers. We also have a baby bath/ high chair/ toddler loo step & seat/ toys/ games etc. DOGS We are happy to allow 1 medium sized dog/ please ask if you have 2 small ones! Please be careful to clean them off if they have a paddle in the stream outside and we ask for no dogs upstairs or on the sofa. PARKING We do not have parking as the cottage is off the road in a pedestrian section by the river. There is free parking nearby either on the road or at the top of the alley, there is pay parking in the nearby central carpark. We will send a full welcome pack with all the information you need ahead of your stay! Please ask if you need any other information. Guest access This cottage is all yours to enjoy without any interruption so you can relax in privacy- we are always available on the phone for any help you need. Other things to note We will send an information pack via email before your visit but if you need anything else just ask! Parking- free parking is available very nearby but we do not have any ourself. Stairs- the stairs are steep so not suitable for anyone who would worry about that. Dogs- we would absolutely welcome you to bring the four legged member of your family- but the cottage is cosy so 1 maximum and not too enormous please! -However if you have 2 littlies it’s always worth asking if we’d think that would be ok!
