Cumbria House Self Catering

Cumbria House is located on a quiet street in the centre of Keswick, with the rare bonus of a private off-street car park for 6 cars. The house is perfect for families and large groups. Just a couple of minutes walk from the town centre, the house also has great access to the surrounding lakes and mountains. There are 8 bedrooms each with their own bathroom, a dining room, a large kitchen, 2 lounges, a utility room, drying room, & south facing patio. There is super-fast wifi throughout. The space Cumbria House provides the best of both worlds; an elevated position on a quiet street, yet only two minutes walk from the market square. We have amazing views from the rooms at the front of the house towards the Newlands Fells and from the rear over Latrigg, Skiddaw and Blencathra. The bedrooms at Cumbria House offer great flexibility for groups and families of up to 15 people. All 8 bedrooms have their own private bathroom, 7 of which are en suite. The lower ground floor has a large kitchen which is well equipped for cooking for your whole group - sharp knives are a must. There's also a bread maker, coffee machine, food processor and much more. The kitchen door opens onto a lounge, which is ideal for keep an eye on little ones while cooking. The utility room is also on this floor, with a washing machine, tumble dryer, sink, larder freezer, and a second larder fridge. On the ground floor, as you come in through the back door, is the drying room. The beautiful dining room has seating for up to 15 people. Our second lounge, with an open fire, is also on the ground floor. Guests frequently tell us that they love having the option of two lounges. On the first floor is a single en suite, and two of our flexi en suite rooms which can be either superkings or twin rooms. On the second floor is a single room with its own private bathroom on a separate half landing, a super king en suite, and 'room 5'; an en suite which can be a super king, or a twin room. This room additionally has a day-bed which can be used for the '15th' person as a single bed. On the third floor there is a double en suite, and a superking / twin en suite. * Please note that if your group requires individual beds for each group member the maximum group size is 12 people, or 13 if a child uses the day bed in room 5. We will check your preferences for how the rooms are to be made up a few weeks before your stay, but please do contact us if you have any questions! If you have guests with accessibility needs we can send you our accessibility information pack. Guest access Facilities at Cumbria House Drying room & utility room: we have a drying room with a dehumidifier if you need to dry your clothes and footwear. There is also a tumble dryer and washing machine in the utility room. Lounges: there are two lounges; one on the ground floor and one on the lower ground floor. There is an open fire in the ground floor lounge, and lots of games available in the TV cabinet. We have wide screen TVs in both lounges and you can find lots of books on Keswick and the outdoors on our bookcases. Bike Storage: there is space for two bikes to be stored under the stairs in the basement, and the laundry room can also be used to store two additional bikes. If you have more bikes than this please contact us. On request we can provide dust sheets, a bike stand, cleaning rags and more so do let us know if you would like any of the above to be provided during your stay. Car park: We have off-street private parking for 5-6 cars at Cumbria House which is available throughout your stay.
