Villa Mandorlo in the heart of Tuscany

An ancient farm, abandoned during World War II, which was bought and restored in 1991 to become a country house. The villa is part of the wine estate and can welcome families or group of friends, up to 10 people. It is a perfect base for a relaxing holiday, or to have daytrips in Tuscany and center of Italy. The space Our estate is a farm called Pomaio Winery, an organic resort that offers accomodations in a villa that can sleep up to 10 people, in the same place where our organic wines are produced. It's located on the hill of Poti, and the hillside’s name is Pomaio, facing the town of Arezzo. We are exposed South-West, at 550m above sea level, that makes this area and a unique landscape, perfect for vines and olive trees. This hill was first populated by the Etruscans more the 3000 years ago, and the Romans after them. In the medieval centuries the noble families of Arezzo had their feud with farmers working for them up here, and one of the villas inside the estate is actually from the XII century. It’s been an important rural area just outside the town until the 1940s, when the World War changed everything. That’s why it has been abandoned for almost 50 years. It’s a property of 23 hectares, all fenced, almost hidden in the forest that is surrounding us. Together the hospitality, there are 3 hectares vineyard, mostly Sangiovese and some Merlot, olive trees and the orchard. The company won the prize Terre Fiorenti 2014 as the most innovative farm company of Tuscany, and in April 2017 the award Best Green Winery among the Top 100 best small and young wineries of Italy according to the Italian Association of Sommelier. The Eco-WineCellar was also selected among Tuscany's 14 most beautiful wine-cellars. Guest access Our guests can enjoy every area related to the private villa, like its parking area, its private pool and its private garden. It is situated inside the wine estate, and the guests can walk around the vineyards and the olive grove, have winetours and tastings, dinners or cooking class in the tasting room. Other things to note The Accommodation Tax (of the Municipality of Arezzo) must be paid at the property at the time of Check-In, and amounts to EUR 3.00 per person, per night, for the first 4 nights of the stay.
