In 1853, gold was discovered at Maldon and within a few years there were 20,000 miners and 70 pubs. One of these was 'The Eaglehawk Hotel'. A fire destroyed the timber hotel in the late 1800's and a new hotel was rebuilt in Edwardian splendour in 1906. The historic hotel retains the original Public Bar from the early 1900's which has been stunningly restored and is now yours to use. All you need to bring are your drinks. Imagine having your own historic Bar and you don't have to pay Bar prices! The hotel also features the Dining Hall with five metre ceilings, an impressive three metre wrought iron chandelier and dining table to seat many. Coupled with the light filled Conservatory, sunny rear deck and spectacular gardens The Eaglehawk is the perfect venue. Space, style and history all combine to make The Eaglehawk a destination in itself. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms and two additional powder rooms are included. The hotel features keyless digital locks meaning you can self check-in. There is no need for key collection. We will provide you with a PIN code that you can share with all guests staying at the hotel so everyone can self check-in and come and go without having to worry about keys. Other things to note All linen, towels and toiletries are provided for your stay. No daily servicing is provided, however we provide sufficient towels for the duration of your stay with weekly servicing (fresh linen and towels) for stays longer than one week.
