You immerse yourself in a timeless place where nature is the undisputed master. The house is located within the Tenuta delle Ripalte, a private estate of 400 hectares of forest and Mediterranean scrub, with 12 kilometers of coastline (the Villa dello Scoglio is an independent property from the Tenuta delle Ripalte). Access to all this vast area of ​​the Tenuta delle Ripalte, which includes beaches, woods and vineyards, is allowed only to guests of the estate and Villa dello Scoglio. This system allows that even in the days of the highest season the people who frequent the beaches in the area are very few! The Villa dello Scoglio is surrounded by Mediterranean scrub interspersed with small oases of oleanders, succulents and tamarisks. The house was built in the 1920s as an outpost for a military photocell on the southernmost tip of Elba, a very strategically important place. The photocell seems to have lit up the island of Montecristo which is right in front of the horizon. The view is breathtaking, in front of the house the entire Mediterranean Sea opens up: you can see the Argentario and the islands of Giglio, Montecristo and Pianosa. To the east you can even glimpse Corsica behind which the sun sets giving magnificent sunsets. It is the ideal place to rest from the busy life. It is a place for amateurs: we fall in love with it if we like to be guests in a "wild" area, secluded in nature, travel 12 kilometers of dirt road to reach the town of Capoliveri, dive from the rocks below the house into an uncontaminated sea, see few people even on August 15, being able to use the cell phone only from a rock. If you want to reach some compromises, it is possible to access a beach inside the estate equipped with every comfort: toilets, showers, deck chairs, umbrellas, lifeguard, bar and restaurant with wi. fi (where grilled fish and of meat). Also within the estate it is possible to reach other wild and unequipped beaches of the Costa dei Gabbiani, one more beautiful than the other. The house lends itself very well to being lived in the outdoor spaces: the blue sails of the veranda offer a gentle shade to the outdoor table where it is possible to have lunch while admiring the colors of the sea and to relax in the sun on the deck chairs and sunbeds. There is also a barbecue with a table top and a practical outdoor shower with hot water heated by the sun (hot until around 7.00 pm). In three minutes, along a path flanked by a small stream, you can reach the rocks below from which you can dive into the blue water. Spring offers emotions of color with pink flowers that cover most of the rock. The interior furnishings have been chosen over the years by the owners with simplicity and taste. The kitchen is independent and is connected to the external level of the barbecue through a window. The living room is connected to the veranda by two French windows, one window opens onto the sea view. The environment is very bright and consists of a living area and a dining table. Above the living room there is a white painted wooden mezzanine equipped with two comfortable beds. There are two sleeping areas, an area at the back of the house with a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower, with direct access to the garden and the outdoor shower; the other sleeping area can be reached from the living room via a corridor onto which a bedroom with a bunk bed, a bathroom with shower and a double bedroom with sea view overlook. The night offers a magnificent surprise: if there is a moon, its light is so strong that it is possible to move without a battery. If there is no moon, the starry mantle is incredible, in fact the whole milky way is visible. The area is particularly attractive for those who love nature and are in search of peace and tranquillity. A holiday at Lo Scoglio is a real immersion in nature: you can wake up with some nice animal outside the window saying good morning (a hedgehog, a goat, a bird ...) and in the evening, if you don't close the window properly bedrooms, perhaps leaving the lights on, you risk going to sleep with the sympathy of a zzzzz in your ear (remember that the lights in the house are the only lights in the area of ​​several kilometres). Recommendations: - Car: it is advisable to avoid arriving with a particularly low car, in fact the road to get to the house is totally unpaved for 8km. - Children: given the position of the house on the cliff, with free access to the sea and the lack of fences, it may not be a safe place for small children who must be constantly monitored - Bathroom under the house: being the southernmost tip of the island of Elba, it is important to check the sea currents before swimming - Fresh water: being an island it is necessary to use little water.
