Guest access Entire accommodation Other things to note In 1964, in the midst of the redevelopment of the Languedoc coast, a development project involved the total destruction of the Gruissan chalets. But the local community rallied and the project was cancelled. At the end of the 1970s the chalets were connected to the communal sewer, the work was completed in 1981, the ground was raised from 60 to 80 centimeters. The chalets then ceased to be submersible, the stilts would never again have their feet in the water. With the development of Guissan-Port planned in 1964 and work on which began in 1974, a new tourist orientation took place. Important recreational facilities, services and shops, and public facilities were developed in Gruissan-Plage. The rental offer became profitable. The chalets are equipped: new rooms on the ground floor, garages, barbecues and green spaces.
