Mawhiti Beach House - unrivalled access to 2 of NZ's most stunning beaches and 10 minutes drive to renowned Kauri Cliffs for those golfing enthusiasts wanting accommodation close by. 3 bedroom modern and stylish beach house perfect for families and couples' retreats. Mawhiti means ‘Escape’ in Maori and we are sure that after your stay here you will relaxed and reinvigorated to get back to your busy lives. The space Escape to a waterfront paradise at Mawhiti Beach House, a fresh and modern space to call home for your holiday. Nestled in Putataua Bay within Matauri Bay you will have the benefit of snorkling and fishing in this quieter bay with access to the long white sandy and surf stretch of stunning Matauri Bay as well. Mawhiti has been created first and foremost as our family holiday house. Everything in this house we have chosen to ensure our comfort whilst staying here. With all modern appliances (including a nespresso coffee machine), you will have all the mod cons and comforts of home. Summer or Winter will be at the perfect temperature with the air conditioning/heat pump and ceiling fans throughout. The indoor/outdoor flow of Mawhiti provides sun-drenched summer days, classic kiwi BBQs (BBQ provided) and the perfect spot for a glass of wine or two as the sun goes down (not to mention the amazing dancing display the gulls put on nightly best viewed on the deck as the sun eventually sets). We want your stay with us to be completely stress free so we provide bed linens and towels for all guests as part of the rate. An ideal base for golfing at Kauri Cliffs, boating, fishing (deep sea fishing charters can even be arranged to pick you up from the beach right in front of the property), kayaking, snorkelling, paddle boarding and every other water sport you can think of. Dive the nearby Rainbow Warrior wreck or head for Whangaroa game fishing, walk around the rocky headlands and swim at the two nearby beaches in crystal clear water. You will love the amazing views, idyllic setting and the beautiful beaches. Our place is great for romantic getaways, escaping with friends but even better as a family getaway with a great bunk room which can sleep 5. The master bedroom has a King size bed with ensuite bathroom and separated by the main bathroom, the second bedroom has a queen size bed and the third bedroom is a bunk room which can sleep 5. Additionally there is a daybed in the living room which converts to a single bed if required. With maximum capacity of the house at 8 people (6 adults max)(which is strictly enforced). A baby/toddler travel cot and high chair are available (on request) together with a washing machine and dryer and outdoor clothes drying. EXTRAS AVAILABLE AT THE HOUSE (no extra cost) some kids toys, a high chair and a portable cot. Mawhiti is available for a minimum 4 night stay for groups under 7 people. A minimum 5 night stay is required for groups of 7 people and above. Note: during peak season from Christmas until mid January - the house is normally reserved for our use. However, we will leave it as “available” on the calendar for anyone wishing to make an enquiry of 1 week or more during this period. We can organise a cleaner as often as you would like for an extra fee. There is an additional NZ$400 cleaning fee at the end of your stay. Guest access Access to all areas of the house except a locked storage area under the house Other things to note We have keyless entry to the property and will advise you of your one-off code for your stay in advance of your trip - no need to worry about losing keys while you're in residence either! The house is in a fairly remote part of New Zealand which adds to its charm and feeling “off the beaten path”. However, this comes with somewhat patchy mobile reception in the area - improving each year but still not consistent. In addition there is no broadband internet - only ADSL, which at times is brilliant and other times also very patchy. If you’re planning on coming and working from home from Mawhiti and need consistent internet for calls etc, best to bear this in mind.
