Sir Walter's is a 2-bedroom and 2 bathroom private self contained cottage set amongst vineyards and majestic gums on a historic Clare Valley Estate Hughes Park. The space Hughes Park is a large historic property and homestead which was built by Sir Walter Watson Hughes back in 1845, who was the co-founder of Adelaide University, and discovered/owned the Wallaroo/Moonta Mines. Since then Hughes Park has been a sheep farming property which is now in its sixth generation with Andrew Duncan running the farm with his wife Alice and 4 children Daisy, Millie, Sophia and Tom. Hughes Park was once the home of the Old Rose Gardens/Business run by Andrew’s Uncle, Walter Duncan (5thGeneration) which has now moved down the road to Sevenhill.When guests arrive they feel they have discovered their own secluded piece of Clare Valley countryside. Quiet and relaxing with wildlife at their door, however in a matter of minutes guests can be savouring the region’s wines in one of the Valley’s historic Cellar Doors or taking a relaxing ride along the well known Riesling Trail.
