Near to local shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants. Everything you need for the perfect stay: Private off-street parking: Yes. Big comfortable beds: Yes. Powerful shower: Yes. Washing machine: Yes. New kitchen: Yes. Spotlessly clean: Yes. Ultra-fast 1GB fibre optic broadband/Wi-Fi: Yes. Charm, character, history? Yes. Yes. Yes! The space Your own little one-bedroom house tucked away in leafy Nether Edge. Close to trendy local shops, cafés and pubs. This is what you get: Upstairs bedroom with super-king size bed. Downstairs living room (with one king size double sofa bed plus an extra small double bed on platform above). Shower room with unlimited mains pressure hot water. Newly fitted kitchen. Private off street parking (ample space for 2 cars). Secure bicycle storage. Small outside seating area. Ultra fast wi-fi. Ethernet sockets for home working. This is is the converted coach-house and wash-house attached to a fine old Victorian home built in the 1860's. There is a separate entrance for your accommodation so you are in your own private space. (There is an internal door connecting to the main house, but this is not in use and is kept locked) We are in the heart of Nether Edge close to local shops, cafes and a traditional local pub. There are frequent buses into town and out into the peak district. The Old Coach House is a great space for a couple but can easily accommodate a third guest on a platform bed above the living room. Plus there is a sofa bed in the living room that can become an extra double bed. The upstairs double bedroom is the old hayloft of the coach-house. Very light and spacious with one window overlooking our courtyard and another overlooking the garden. The floor is wooden. The ceilings are sloping and there are old wooden beams and a big desk. But the main feature of the room is the super-king size bed. The frame is hand-crafted from timber reclaimed from an old Yorkshire mill. The mattress is pocket sprung. Medium firm. All the bedding is 100 % cotton and there's a cosy duck feather and down quilt. The living room is downstairs. It is the old wash-house. A very characterful room with exposed brickwork, an old solid-fuel iron cooking range and high sloping ceiling. On a raised platform, there is an additional small double bed. (4ft). This bed is accessed up a steep narrow staircase. It is a staircase, not a ladder, but do mind your head! There's a little seating area outside - just for you! There's a really good wi-fi signal and high speed internet connection. The Old Coach House has its own mesh wi-fi network connected to Virgin Media 1Gig fibre-optic broadband. There are Ethernet sockets in the bedroom and living room for home workers who prefer a wired connection. You have two 4k Smart TV's with HD Freeview channels and full internet connectivity for BBC iPlayer, All4, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Now TV etc (you need to bring your own account details to log on to subscription services). There is a Sonos sound system so you can have music all around the house. In the kitchen you have an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge freezer, and washer dryer. There are two cafés very close by if you want to go out for breakfast. And there's a local bakery just round the corner baking fresh bread. There's also a Sainsbury's local supermarket open 7am-11pm. For meals later in the day there's traditional pub food at the nearby Byron House pub. And a multitude of different eating places and local pubs a short walk away. If you need a travel cot or high chair, do ask, we can usually lend you ours. The Old Coach House has it's own independent gas central heating and unlimited hot water. All bedding is 100% cotton. And there are plenty of towels - no need to bring your own. If you are coming by bicycle (or bringing a bicycle) you are welcome to use our spacious locked bike shed. We'd rather you didn't bring your bikes into The Old Coach House. Guest access You can park in our backyard. (Plenty of space for two cars) We do not allow smoking in any part of the house or grounds. We have a safe place to leave the key for you, so you can arrive as late as you like! Other things to note We have space in our locked bike shed if you are bringing bicycles. You might hear some noise from the local pub.
