The Loft -A unique place in a fab location

The loft of an historic house in Cartmel village centre with own hideaway suntrap yard. Beautifully kept in unrivalled central location, and just along the lane from the renowned Michelin starred l'Enclume restaurant. When you stay in our beamed, quaint 2bed flat. with everything you need on the doorstep, you'll want to forget about your car! *Please contact Alison ahead of booking with any queries. We're really flexible* The space Unique property in the centre of Cartmel. Forget about the car, as everything you need is right here - from amazing country walks to Michelin starred restaurants and great pubs. The country garden courtyard at the rear of the property, and thru which you enter, is ours, and for your exclusive use. The stone store is for you to store any outdoor gear, and has deck chairs for you to use, picnic paraphenalia like windbreaks you can take out to use; including a bbq stand, perfect for your disposable trays! We're central yet private. Our place is not overlooked, and the property is kept to the highest standards, and we don't let it out continuously, so constantly monitor wear and tear. Please note that owing to the fact it is a loft apartment, there are steps upto, and within our accommodation. It is, in effect a second floor flat, so there is an exterior stairway (see evening shot on photos) to our front door; and in addition to half a dozen stairs in the hall, there are two into the living room. Given this, and our sash windows with windowseat in the main bedroom, we don't accept under 7s, and it is not recommended for anyone with any infirmity. **Pls note we operate a 3night minimum booking policy; which is increased to 4nights at peak times. **PARKING: A large carpark with 24hr (paid for) parking is just a minute's walk away, at the racecourse. Please ask for further info. Guest access You'll have the entire place. Two double bedrooms, master has kingsize bed and ensuite; two loos, sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. Three flat screen TVs, free unlimited WiFi. Info on what to do if you're unfamiliar with the Lakes available from Alison, and in the flat. Four fab pubs in the village, and the famous Michelin 3 starred l'Enclume is just a little further down our street. Plus the races, of course - a 10 second walk to the main entrance on racedays, and the living room windows looks over the neighbouring rooftops onto the course. Our backyard is gated, and has a high stone wall creating a lovely private space. It's like an oasis, right in the hub of the village. (Please be aware our downstairs' neighbours have an entrance on the lower path, below our patio). The yard is for your exclusive use, and the outdoor suite is for you to use. More outdoor furniture is in our shed, along with picnic chairs and other stuff you can take to the races, or out for picnics. Our apartment is in no way overlooked. Cartmel is magical - and our flat matches the ambience! Other things to note We do not accept bookings for fewer than three nights - four at peak times. Sorry! Of course you can stay for two, and leave anytime on the third day; but you will be charged for three nights. All electrical appliances in the property are PAT tested, and we have smoke detectors installed; so while it is our private second home, we're very much aware guests' safety is paramount. Bathroom towels : for stays of fewer than 4 nights we ask guests to provide their own towels. This saves on costs all round, and helps the environment. Kitchen tea towels are always provided. Second bedroom: if you are booking for two people, and want both beds made up, we will charge a £20bedding fee, which if not indicated at time of booking, will be deducted from your security deposit. This reflects the extra cleaning costs; and helps keep costs lower for co-sleeping couples wanting to use our place.
