58 Marygate, York (white cottage left in the picture) is a 300 year old cottage and has been completely renovated to a very high standard, whilst retaining its original period features and charm. We have crisp cotton bed linen, fluffy towels, top appliances and a welcome hamper etc. It has a superb view at the front of the house over the entrance to the Museum Gardens and St Olaves Church. Marygate is a fascinating street in a central York location, it's not too busy so is quiet at night. The space 58 Marygate is a Luxury period cottage that is full of character, it has low ceilings, period fireplaces, wonky staircases and a great view over the entrance to the Museum Gardens. It has 4 bedrooms and sleeps up to 8 people in comfort. Bedrooms include quality beds and soft, top quality cotton bedding. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and an en suite bathroom with a great view at the front of the house. Also at the front of the house is bedroom 2 with a kingsize bed again with a great view over the front. At the back of the house is the dormer bedroom with 2 single beds and a nice view down Marygate Lane. There are flat screen TV's in all the 3 upstairs bedrooms. Downstairs is the fourth bedroom with bunk beds suitable for adults or kids. There is a large house bathroom upstairs with bath and shower and a downstairs toilet. The location is perfect because it is so central, yet quiet. From our front door you can take a beautiful 5 minute walk either through the Museum Gardens or along the river to the main attractions, shopping areas and restaurants. Outside is a small courtyard area with patio furniture and planters. There is a fast WIFI connection. There is a large 24hr secure car park to rear of Marygate (1 min walk) We also have a high chair, lightweight pushchair, fold down cot and toys/activities in the cottage for our guests with babies/toddlers. There is the excellent Star Inn The City restaurant in the Museum Gardens opposite the house 2 minutes walk away. Also, the highly acclaimed Roots restaurant is just 4 doors down Marygate. The rest of York's many restaurants are 5 minutes walk away. There are two pubs on Marygate itself and a Sainsburys Local supermarket at the top of Marygate, 3 minutes walk away. Regrettably we cannot accept bookings from stag or hen weekends as the property is in a quiet residential neighbourhood. Guest access The whole of the house is included in the price. The Minster is 5 minutes, main shops, bars, restaurants etc are 5 mins. There is a cracking pub, The Minster Inn, on Marygate itself and the award winning Star in the City restaurant in the Museum Gardens opposite. The highly acclaimed Roots restaurant is 4 doors away down towards the River on Marygate. We have a high chair and cot in the cottage for our guests with babies. There is a large secure car park at the back of the cottage (1 min walk).
