18th century stone farmhouse in the heart of beautiful countryside, with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and reversible heating/AC units throughout house. The situation is serene and peaceful in a small hamlet, with beautiful views. The garden is large with lavender, olive trees, roses and fruit trees dotted throughout the property. 3 bikes, a hammock, a large built in barbeque, pingpong table and sparkling saltwater pool, heated from June through September, complete the idyllic spot for your holiday. The living room has a wood burning stove, flat screen with Freesat TV. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a dishwasher. The bamboo covered terrace , offers perfect al fresco dining both, night and day. The pool area has a fence around it and a childproof gate. Comfortable furnishings, cozy bed linens, a library of books, a collection of DVDs and CD's, two wood burning stoves, two stairways up to the bedrooms gives more privacy. A washing machine and dryer across in the laundry room where the second fridge (with freezer) is also located, useful for wines and beverages gives guests the sense of being totally self contained. 12 minutes drive to the local village of Caylus so as not to feel isolated - and situated on a country lane, offering peace and tranquility. Beautiful walks abound in our area, and the flora and fauna is just gorgeous. Guests have complete access to the whole house and gardens (nearly two acres), heated pool and pool house. There is a laundry room across the lawn in the barn with a washer, dryer and sink. The three bikes are in covered outdoor lounge area, with helmets and locks. The moveable ping pong table is placed in the garden. I am always available through phone and email during guests stay - and Eliane and Rene, our house managers are always on call to visit for any concerns or questions too. Check in is contactless. The keys will be left in a designated place for guests arrival. The medieval village of Caylus is 12 minutes away, complete with its own ruined castle, delightful cobbled streets,stunning church and lake where locals and tourists picnic and barbeque in the summertime. It and has a couple of excellent boulangeries, a butcher, pizzeria, grocery store, and pharmacy. There are also a number of authentic French bars. Medieval Saint Antonin du Val, set on the river Aveyron, complete with kayaks for rent, and with its famous Sunday market, is only 20 mins away. This village is just stunning both in its location on the Aveyron River, and also for the gorgeous medieval buldings. Show biz trivia:The current movie starring Helen Mirren ,' The 100 foot Journey' ,was filmed in and around this village! (From there you can also rock climb, rent bikes,and ride horses. ) The famous picturesque bastide villages of Cordes sur Ciel, Narjac, Bruniguel and Saint-Cirq-Lapopie are about 45 mins drive. These all are must sees, particuarly Narjac and St-Circq-Lopopie both of which are truly stunning. It is necessary to have a car ! There are so many beautiful villages and towns to visit. Wine tours to make close to Cahors, and kayaking on the nearby rivers. We have a 2 car parking area right next to kitchen, and additional cars can park by the barn entrance. In the summer months our caretakers, Rene and Eliane, come early in the morning (around 7.30 am) to check the pool and empty the skimmer, etc. Eliane also waters the plants around the pool area. The pool area is about 120 feet away from the farmhouse.They do not come to the house, unless requested and respect guests privacy. For guests more than 6 in number there is a charge of $30.00 per night per extra guest. For guests more than 6 in number there is an additional $100.00 cleaning fee. There is a dog fee of $10.00 per night per dog.
