Our house "Les Deux Figuiers" is ideally located in a quiet area, in the pretty village of Port d'Envaux, labeled with stones and water, the house offers a magnificent view of the Charente River, a river beach 400 m away. Comfortable and authentic, it is pleasantly decorated. The house is ideally located in a quiet cul-de-sac, in the pretty village of Port d 'Envaux labeled with Stones and Water, this charming house offers you a magnificent view of the Charente River and the countryside. The house overlooks the towpath and its shipowners’ houses in the very traditional Charentais village of Port d’Envaux, which has been awarded the “Pierre et Eau” label. This path runs along the Charente for 400 meters to a small river beach with supervised swimming, sand, and playground for children, boat and canoe rentals, as well as a charming open-air café and an inn. It is no longer necessary to take your car to go swimming, no traffic jams or problems to park but nearby a friendly summer and family atmosphere. You can also find in the village 2 renowned restaurants as well as a pizzeria, a bakery and a supermarket. In summer, many events animate the village: fishing competition, fireworks on July 14, flea market, concerts ... Just 400 meters from the village lies a unique, world-renowned site: the “lapidaries,” which bring together stonemasons from around the world and their works. They offer woodcarving demonstrations and workshops in an open-air museum, and you can also visit, free of charge, “The Galaxy of Standing Stones,” which was inaugurated in 2023. A total of 365 monumental sculptures will be gradually erected there by 2060. Nearby are the castles of Panloy and Crazanne, 9 km away the town of Saintes, the many Gallo Roman ruins, its markets, its museums... 30 minutes away the town of Cognac and its cellars, 40 minutes away the beaches of Royan, Marennes and its oysters, and the remarkable Palmyra Zoo, one hour away the city of La Rochelle, its port, its aquarium, 120 km from Bordeaux and its vineyards... For bike lovers the Flow Bike also passes through Port d 'Envaux, this national road bike connects the Ile d' Aix in Charente-Maritime to Thiviers in the Dordogne by crisscrossing the Charente river. The house is nicely decorated with regional objects and Charentais furniture in a family home spirit. The house comprises: On the ground floor: an entrance hall, a large living-dining room with sofas, a large table, a beautiful cut-stone fireplace, a large TV with Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen (stove, range hood, dishwasher, microwave, dishes, cutlery, glasses, etc.), and direct access to the garden and the terrace overlooking the Charente. A bedroom with a 130 bed. Toilets. Upstairs 2 other bedrooms: a large bedroom with a nice 140 four-poster bed + a 90-person bed, a second large bedroom with 2 80 beds (suitable for 2 people or a couple), a shower room with sink, shower, toilet and bidet In a small outbuilding in the garden is the washing machine. Other things to note My grandparents bought this house in 1945. It is an authentic family home that we strive to update by designing it with its authenticity and regional character. The area is beautiful and the village is warm and active, the climate is perfect. We and our friends love staying in this house.
