The space Corte Marchiori – A Vineyard Retreat Just 11 km from Verona We are happy to welcome you to our family home, passed down through six generations — an authentic and peaceful retreat nestled in the greenery of Val Squaranto, just 20 minutes by car from Verona’s Arena and 15 minutes from the Verona Est highway exit. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the countryside without giving up proximity to the city. With its spacious layout, the house is ideal for holidays with family or friends. It is spread over two levels: on the ground floor you’ll find direct access to the parking area and the laundry room. Climbing about 15 steps, you reach the first floor, where there are 3 double bedrooms and 1 single, all furnished with antique furniture and rugs. Wooden floors and exposed beams create a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and the windows frame stunning views of the surrounding hills and vineyards. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom with a shower; one of them also features a bathtub. On the top floor, after others 15 steps, you’ll find a spacious open-plan living room and kitchen, with original exposed beams, antique furnishings, and Persian rugs. The kitchen is fully equipped (fridge, induction hob, microwave, toaster, coffee machine), and four windows fill the room with natural light and offer breathtaking views over the valley. Outside, a private garden of over 300 sqm with a gazebo, sun loungers, and built-in barbecue invites you to relax in the open air. The garden borders our fields, where in summer you can pick cherries and apricots. In the evening, enjoy the gentle breeze flowing through the valley. Although surrounded by vineyards and countryside tranquility, the house is just 4 km from the nearest supermarket, which can be reached in 5–10 minutes by car. The kitchen is located on the top floor and has no direct access to the garden, but you can still enjoy outdoor meals under the gazebo. Just a short walk away, you'll find the small winery of our neighbors, who have lovingly tended the vines for generations. Wine tastings can be arranged with them — no need to drive anywhere. Please note: The house has several flights of stairs and may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. We highly recommend renting a car to move comfortably in the area. The air conditioning is available only in the upstairs living room. The bedrooms on the lower floor do not have AC but are equipped with fans and tend to stay cooler thanks to their location and ventilation. Guest access You will have at your disposal a portion of the house, completely independent in the outdoor and indoor spaces, including the garden Other things to note In 1104, the fiefdom of the Squaranto Valley — then known as Vallis Fontensis — was granted to the Abbey of San Zeno, making its Abbot the new landowner. The Benedictine monks transformed the valley into a mix of farmland and forest, carefully cultivating the land. In this remote area, far from the Abbey itself, they built a hunting tower, which served as both a lookout and a support point for managing the territory. That very tower became the original core of our home. In 1848, our ancestor Luciano Marchiori — a Veronese landowner and engineer — purchased the tower along with the surrounding land. He built a house around it for his family, giving rise to what is now known as “Corte Marchiori,” the name we proudly carry today.
