A minutes' walk in the other direction up Old Tolbooth Wynd and through the ancient archway of the Tolbooth, and you reach the Royal Mile with its tempting selection of shops, bars, restaurants and cafes as well as an array of absorbing historic buildings and medieval closes. From the Royal Mile you are within an easy walk many of Edinburgh's favourite visitor attractions, including Holyrood Palace and Edinburgh Castle, Dynamic Earth, the Scottish Parliament building, St Giles Cathedral, Mary King’s Close and the Camera Obscura. The apartment is accessed from a secluded courtyard, 2 flights of stairs bring you to the front door which leads into a pleasant, light hallway with wooden floors. The living room is to your left and overlooks the paved courtyard which is attractively planted with shrubs and trees. The room is very light and airy with a high loft style ceiling and is simply furnished with a 2 seater sofa and chairs arranged around the fireplace.
