Description
Bird Hill is a nature-rich cottage on 1 acre of garden, ideal for those who value privacy and presence. Perfect for reconnecting with land, loved ones, and yourself. Harvest seasonal produce, watch birds from the private deck, and explore the Yarra Valley. Here, the pace slows and the senses open. The garden is alive with texture and movement, with each season bringing something different. Peaceful, soulful, full of character - an ideal base for rest, reflection and Yarra Valley adventures. The space Bird Hill isn’t just for guests—it’s our family’s holiday home, lovingly shared with those who appreciate nature, comfort and quiet connection. Nestled in the quaint town of Woori Yallock, Bird Hill sits gently on one acre of evolving gardens, with fruit and nut trees, vegetable beds and native blooms. It’s a place where birds can feed from your hand, butterflies drift through citrus blossoms and the rhythm of the land invites you to slow down. Guests have said: “The best home we’ve ever stayed in.” “The photos don’t do it justice.” “It far exceeded our expectations.” We invite you to read their reviews and feel the care that goes into every stay. 🌿 The Cottage - A true holiday home experience Built many years ago as a holiday home, Bird Hill still holds that spirit of retreat. Inside, you’ll find a blend of old-world charm and modern comfort. Furnishings and decor are tasteful, practical and often sentimental - chosen to reflect the character of each room. Beds are made using quality linen with comfortable mattresses and the kitchen is exceptionally well equipped: cooking essentials, an array of teas and coffee, spices, condiments, oils and thoughtful extras you may have forgotten to bring. In winter, the wood heater adds a warm, cosy glow, while ducted gas heating keeps the cottage snug and welcoming. Air conditioning is available for warmer days. Outside, the private back deck offers a front-row seat to nature. Many birds including Yellow-Breasted Robins and Grey Fantails often follow you through the garden, while King Parrots, Rosellas, and Lorikeets bring bursts of colour. Wildlife is part of the experience—kangaroos, wombats, frogs, lizards, bees, and other creatures may make an appearance. It’s all part of the magic at Bird Hill. 🚲 For Bike Riders & Nature Lovers Just minutes from the Warburton Rail Trail—perfect for cycling and walking, with endless opportunities to connect with nature. 🌸 What’s Growing Beyond the cottage garden, the property is an ongoing seasonal project. Guests are welcome to carefully harvest what’s in season: • Fruit and nut trees • Vegetable beds and herbs • Native and flowering plants 🗺️ Location Woori Yallock, meaning “Running Creek” in the language of the Wurundjeri people, the traditional custodians of the Yarra Valley land and is not a tourist hub - that’s part of its charm. You’re on the way to Warburton, Healesville, Mt Donna Buang, Rochford Events, with artisan produce and wineries close by and natural beauty in abundance.
