La Petite Maison forms part of Maison Ruisseau, "a real get away from it all location" set in the heart of the Charente. Originally a farmhouse built in 1838, it has been tastefully and lovingly restored maintaining many of the character features of the region. Not far from the airport of Bordeaux, close to Cognac, and ideal for couples wanting to relax, solo adventurers, families and business travellers set in a picturesque setting of vineyards and sunflowers. The space La Petite Maison, a detached cottage right next to the pool with its calming decor and light oak furniture is the perfect place to relax and chill, or just to sit and watch the world go by in this haven of tranquility. It is equipped to a very high standard and the pictures speak for themselves, although we are told the size and beauty of this accommodation is not seen to the full advantage in the photographs. Guest access Maison Ruisseau, of which La Petite Maison is part, is surrounded by a beautiful stone wall for your privacy. It contains a very pretty cottage garden which is also completely private, but benefits from an orchard and field overlooking the countryside. The swimming pool to the rear of the property, which is 9 x 5 mts is complete with security alarm. La Petite Maison is accessed through large gates and up five steps. The property is not suitable for those with wheelchairs. (Sorry no dogs as we have a cat) A welcome pack is included on arrival for 7 day bookings to include basic produce for your first night and breakfast the following morning. All towels, bed linen, tea towels and pool towels are provided free of charge . Access to Internet is provided via site-wide Wifi. The property is cleaned before your arrival and we ask that you leave the property as you found it, ready for the next guests. Bikes are available, plus table tennis and badmington, within an area for ball games. Maison Ruisseau's gites have central heating and are strictly non-smoking. The pool is open from May to October. The pool is not heated and is shared between the three properties. It is fitted with a safety alarm in accordance with French law. Other things to note Maison Ruisseau provides you with patio tables and chairs for all the gites; they are located on the terrace pool area and in the garden to ensure sun all day and early evening, it's ideal for eating breakfast, lunch and dinner outside. Sun loungers and umbrellas are also provided for the garden and the pool area. Each of the gites is equipped with a barbecue and tools for 'al fresco' dining.
