Just imagine waking up in a fabulous king size bed, lounging in a magnificent period room that's 250 years old, basking in the warmth of a cosy log burner or toasting marsh mallows on the fire pit in Summer and complete it all with a visit to the Spa 2 miles away or walk to 2 beautiful lakes. What could be more perfect? Woodside's in a rural woodland valley, with beautiful views, walks from the door, bird song , and in the National Park. The space Woodside is in a rural location where you can escape the stresses of modern life. Yet only a few minutes from Lakeside village amenities. Woodside's location is fabulous, being so central in the Lake District National Park means you can easily see more of the National Park. Woodside is walking distance to lake Windermere and High Dam, 2 fabulous lakes to explore. Being in the heart of the National Park pavements are few but with care the walk to Lake Windermere's pier at Lakeside which is approx 13 mins on foot away, can be done on the B road and through the woods during the day. It can can be busy in school holidays. Many people walk the roadway or you can drive the 2 minutes and park at Lakeside. At Lakeside you can get the lake cruisers around Lake Windermere , there is a cafe , restaurant, The Aquarium of the Lakes. and The Lakeside pub which is great for food and drink. There's also a fabulous on the level walk to The Swan marina and hotel. The walk to High Dam lake is a few minutes walk on a minor road and then footpaths. This is a must do. The setting is beautiful and so peaceful. This is a rural location wth plenty of footpaths to enjoy. To help you escape even more we have free entrance and leisure passes to Cascades spa: The Spa is 2 miles away. opening times: mon-fri 07.00-21.30 sat & sun 08.00-19.30 includes: heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub/jacuzzi and gym (note children under 16 years are permitted to use the pool , table tennis only) Also for additional cost is use of the thermal spa, providing exclusive health and beauty experience which is second to none. WOODSIDE COTTAGE Ground Floor: Lounge: • Woodside's spacious lounge has a fabulous INGLENOOK FIREPLACE and LOG BURNER to gather around, cosy for nights in with a bottle of wine. With games, books, CDs, DVds and a large flat screen TV (own log in for Netflix etc required) Wii available . Everyone in the family will be happy :-) Kitchen: With electric cooker, microwave, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine , tumble dryer and tiled floor. Well equipped for cooking! • If you like to cook , you'll like Woodside. So well equipped with complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, oil, herbs and spices etc. Seating around a refectory table for 8 Down stairs WC and basin FIRST FLOOR MASTER BEDROOM : With king size bed with window seat and ensuite shower room: With power shower , toilet, hand basin and heated towel rail. This romantic master bedroom has Egyptian cotton sheets, designer fabrics and luxury ensuite and is a haven after a hard days sightseeing. DOUBLE BEDROOM : With double bed. This romantic bedroom with oversized headboard has Egyptian cotton sheets, designer fabrics and lovely view down the valley. TWIN BEDROOM : With twin beds. Window seat This bedroom has Egyptian cotton sheets, designer fabrics and colour co-ordinated furnishings. To compliment the romantic feel all bedrooms have crystal chandeliers, are dressed with designer fabrics and Egyptian cotton bedding with colour co-ordinated luxury towels. FAMILY BATHROOM: In the family bathroom you can enjoy a power shower or a long leisurely soak in a contemporary setting. Toilet and hand basin with heated towel rail. • We are exceptionally CHILD FRIENDLY with high chair, travel cot, stair gate, fire guard, baby bowls and cutlery, books and toys all provided FREE of charge , so leaving more room in your car. We have facilities for 1 baby ONLY 2 GARDENS : Patio garden and Cottage garden. Cottage garden has the fire pit in during the Summer months. COTTAGE GARDEN. 5 paces from front door The garden has seating for 6 and whilst you sit and enjoy the peace and quiet all you can hear are the sounds of the nearby stream and birdsong. The view from the garden is of the distant mountains across the wooded valley. The garden is child and pet safe. • The garden is a real SUN TRAP and wonderful for eating alfresco. There are 6 sun loungers , outdoor small side tables and a fire pit (during Summer months) Iron table and seating for 5 available all year PATIO GARDEN is attached to house . Large outdoor table with seating for 6 and BBQ (during Summer months only) • At Lakeside there is a hotel pub/ bar, cafe ,boat rides,steam railway,hotel and restaurant and the new Lake Windermere walk from Lakeside to The Swan at Newby Bridge and in the Summer a ferry to Fell Foot. A fabulous location in the heart of the National Park and by Lake Windermere is hard to beat! • Such a central lakes location will enable you to see so much of the Lake District, infact you can forget the car for several days and travel around lake Windermere by boat! • Woodside is a hideaway of PEACE AND QUIET superbly well equipped,it's an ideal base,many of the attractions can be reached on foot or boat, you can forget the car! Woodside is 250 years old and was part of the lodging house for the single men and young boys who worked at the Bobbin mill over the road. Today the Bobbin mill is owned by English Heritage. You will be staying in a piece of history. • We have free private parking for 2 cars with visitor parking nearby. We do not have dedicated facilities for charging an Electric Vehicle. Use of a plug from your car into the cottage is highly dangerous, and can cause a fire. We are not covered on our insurance if this happens. We will ask for you to leave the cottage immediately if we find charging has taken place • To help you make the most of your stay we have put together a file of 'local walks', some right from the front door. It is a wonderful area for DOGS with walks from the door and plenty of fields, footpaths etc. There are 20 GEOCACHES within 2 miles. DOGS WELCOME • Woodside is dog friendly ,wood and tiled floors on the ground floor. Both gardens are enclosed. Patio garden is attached to the cottage. . Cottage garden is 5 paces from the front door across the neighbours drive. We send a list of useful websites before your arrival to help with your planning, that will help you discover the fantastic places of the Lake District We have loads of leaflets in Woodside, of places to vist etc in the area, to help you plan your stay and are always only a phone call away if you want to know about a particular visitor attraction . WE provide : WELCOME BASKET: You’ll arrive to a welcome basket inclusive of milk, tea, coffee and biscuits. We hope you enjoy our selection. COOKING BASICS: condiments of salt, pepper, oil, vinegar and a selection of herbs and spices – all provided complimentary for your stay FIREWOOD: We provide logs for the first night, but should you need more they can be obtained locally at the garage at Newby Bridge on A590 Dogs are very welcome but we do ask that they are not allowed upstairs.
