Description
The spectacular and iconic house at Rinsey Head is situated on an unspoilt stretch of coast near Porthleven, in West Cornwall. Located on the coast, Rinsey Head has spectacular views of both Lands End and The Lizard. Rinsey Head perches on the headland between Rinsey Cove and Praa Sands, and is the house that so many wonder about when lying on either beach.! This is your opportunity to stay in this incredible house! The house sleeps 10 but is just as comfortable for 2, it is also dog friendly. The space It is all about Location! Probably the best located self catering property in South West Cornwall, positioned on the beautifully unspoilt stretch of coast between Porthleven and Praa Sands; with far reaching views across Mounts Bay. The house itself perches on the edge of Rinsey Head and sits in private grounds of approximately 27 acres, making the house totally private. Rinsey Head was built in the early twentieth century and is architecturally designed to maximise the views in every direction. The house itself is a well appointed, spacious family home, which exudes a real sense of adventure; unlike many places in Cornwall the weather here is immaterial – on a beautiful summer day relax on the patio and drink in the views whilst a variety of seabirds circle above and dolphins play below; or on a wild Cornish day snuggle up, light the fire in the cosy living room and watch the waves crashing all around! The best bits in summary: Panoramic sea views from every room Isolated but only 10 minutes from Porthleven Footpaths in every direction Five bedrooms, sleeping max 10 Three modern bathrooms, 2 ensuite Glorious period features throughout Fully equipped kitchen with Aga Wifi Broadband Plenty of parking Dog friendly Unbeatable location and views! Accommodation in detail: Ground Floor: From the entrance hallway; there is a downstairs cloakroom with space to hang coats and store boots. The reception rooms are found down a short flight of oak stairs, the double aspect sitting room has spectacular views over Mounts Bay with Rinsey on one side and Praa Sands / Prussia Cove on the other, there is an open fire in the sitting room, a large flat screen smart TV and bluetooth speaker (if you can tear yourself away from the views!). There is a well equipped kitchen with traditional two oven Aga, separate gas hob and electric oven, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine and large fridge/freezer. Leading off the kitchen is a dining room with another large picture window with more astonishing views of both sea and Wheal prosper engine house at Rinsey. First Floor: Wide oak staircase leads up from the hallway, there are two large double rooms on this floor. The “Rinsey” room has a large super king bed, wardrobe and large chest of drawers, the double aspect windows have views of Rinsey on one side and over Mounts Bay to Penzance on the other, there is a modern white ensuite bathroom with bath and shower over. The “Praa” room is a very large bedroom with king size bed, built in wardrobes, two chest of drawers and a two-seater sofa, again double aspect with stunning views, probably one of the only bedrooms where you can see Lizard point and Lands End from your bed! There is a modern white ensuite, with shower cubicle, WC and basin (again with amazing views!). On this floor there is also a newly fitted modern white family bathroom with bath, separate shower cubicle, WC, hand basin and two large towel rails. There is one further occasional bedroom / utility room with single bed, sink and washing machine. Up a couple of stairs and past bookshelves packed with holiday reading is the “Turret” room with single bed, wash basin, fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers. Second Floor: A large bedroom with two single beds and one set of bunk beds; there is a wash hand basin and two incredible arched windows. The room evokes the spirit of Enid Blyton and would be a firm favourite with any children in the party! Outside In amongst your very own private headland is space to park several cars to the front of the property and a garage which can be used to store surf boards and beach paraphernalia! To the rear of the house is a patio area with incredible views. There are no fenced areas around the house so due to the nature of the location young children and pets should be accompanied whilst outside at all times. Praa Sands, a mile long stretch of sandy beach is walkable from the house, pick up the South West Coastal Path from half way up the drive, the walk takes about 15 minutes.
