The space My holiday home is a mid terrace 19th century traditional stone built cottage. It could not be more centrally located and yet it is tucked away on a quiet road. The interior exudes an air of calm even though all the restaurants, shops, bars and cinemas are within a minutes walk of the front door. Once at the cottage you really dont need a car as you can hike from the front door or take a bus to Grasmere, Rydal or Windermere. The interior is much larger than the photos convey, with a large through living room/dining room, comfortably seating 6 and a wood burning stove. The contemporary kitchen is fully equipped with integrated dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, microwave and underfloor heating as well as various gadgets such as slow cooker, hand held blender, cafetiere, toasted sandwich maker as well as the usual toaster & kettle. The 3 bedrooms are spread over the upper two floors. On the first floor is a large double bedroom (with small wall mounted TV) as well as the main family bathroom (with sink, toilet, bath with stand up shower facility as well as underfloor heating to warm your toes in the colder months). Up a quite narrow, steep staircase to the 2nd floor is a large twin bedroom and a good sized double bedroom; the double bedroom has its own stylish ensuite shower room with walk in shower. Too many cottage owners in the Lakes make little effort with updating the décor of their holiday homes, relying instead on a large tourist trade.
