Description
Rose Cottage is a fisherman's cottage in the heart of the historic town of Brixham, located in walking distance of Brixham’s many attractions and harbour. . This cosy cottage is full of character with quirky features and crooked stairs. It is warm in winter and cool in summer. There are three bedrooms, two double with loads of space and the top is a twin under the eaves with a view of the sky. It's ideal for children or a perfect place for friends to share (mind your head). The space Situated in the conservation area of Brixham, Rose Cottage is roomy with plenty of storage. It sleeps six people with two sunny double bedrooms, and a twin bedroom in the converted attic. Enjoy a walk in shower or a luxurious bath in the deep Victorian tub in the bathroom From the dining room you can access a small terrace. In the morning it's a real sun trap, sheltered from the wind, with table and chairs and umbrella for summer dining. The dining room boasts a table that sits six people, and a fridge freezer tucked away. The entrance to the sitting room is through the stable door, which you can keep open and feel like part of the neighbourhood. Three sofas mean seats for everybody around a coffee table where you can play games or snack, or just read the Sunday newspapers. The cottage is centrally heated and very cosy in the winter months and cool and airy in the summer. The kitchen is small but perfectly formed and well equipped with oven, microwave, toaster and plenty of crockery and pots and pans. Glasses for the sauvignon. The attic bedroom is up steep staircase. There is limited headroom under the eaves in this room, but it's a peaceful hideaway for the children, or adult friends. Mind your head! There is a library of books in one of the bedroom cupboards, and games and jigsaws in the other. TV is smart Guest access Throughout the duration of the reservation, you can enjoy the cottage entirely for you. We like to drop by to say hello if we're in the area and check that you're comfortable. Other things to note As the stairs are narrow and steep Rose Cottage would not be suitable for people with mobility issues. There is only one bathroom and toilet. This is outside the first double bedroom, so if grandparents are part of the group, they would find it easier. There is a step up to it. The attic bedroom is great for children, and adults who are limber, short or can remember to duck their heads. It's all part of the fun! Being a seaside town, the seagulls can be noisy at night in spring when they are nesting. The church plays Abide with me a few times a day, the man who wrote the hymn used to live at Berry Head and preached at All Saints Church.
