Location: Located close to the centre of the harbour but tucked away from the hustle & bustle and with no need to negotiate the narrow, tiny streets! Location: The perfect base to explore West Cornwall and its many attractions; Minack Theatre, St Ives, Penzance, St Micheal’s Mount and Sennen, to name just a few, are within a short drive. Its easy to relax the minute you arrive at Mousehole Cottage, no need to navigate the narrow Mousehole streets and a guaranteed parking space, ensuring a stress-free start to your Cornish holiday. A reviving drink in the private and secure garden overlooking the sea and then head out to wander the pathways and narrow streets of Mousehole. The picturesque harbour is just a short stroll away from the cottage, and truly lives up to Dylan Thomas description of Mousehole as the “loveliest village in England”. Discover a picture postcard Cornish harbour with a small sandy beach at one end and a myriad of winding streets, with an array of cafes, shops, galleries and restaurants, the only problem you face is where to try first. Spend your days exploring the many attractions of West Cornwall, from the iconic Minack Theatre at Porthcurno, to the bustling streets of St Ives (take the train from Penzance or St Erth) where you can visit the wonderful Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden and the Tate St Ives, followed by ice cream on one of the seven sandy town beaches. For the adventurous, grab the Scillonian, which you can see from the window, from Penzance to the incredible Isles of Scilly. Alternate busy days with more relaxing ones; a morning walk, along the South West Coast path, a relaxing lunch at a fabulous local pub and then either flop on the beach with a reviving dip in the crystal blue sea; or visit one of the many stunning gardens in the area (see Journal for inspiration). Accommodation Ground Floor: Entrance door into a hall with large cupboard and hooks for coats. Through to a well furnished sitting room and dining area with beautiful sea views from the double aspect windows, two large comfortable sofas, wood burner, smart TV, DVD player and smart speaker. At the back of the living room is the dining area with table and chairs for six people. At the rear of the cottage is the well appointed kitchen with built-in double oven with halogen hob and extractor hood, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher, plenty of shaker style cupboards and granite worktops. There is a small WC and basin off the kitchen. First Floor – The master bedroom with double white wrought iron bed has some of the best views in the cottage, dual aspect across the bay to St Michael’s Mount and St Clements Isle, with built in cupboard, chest of drawers and bedside units. The twin bedroom, also dual aspect has two single beds and built in cupboard with shelves and hanging space. The third bedroom is a bunk room with 3ft white bunk beds and small chest of drawers. There is a family bathroom with bath, Mira shower over, basin, WC, towel rail and further sea views! Outside a private and secure garden surrounds the house, to the front is a large garden table, garden chairs, 2 basket style chairs , BBQ and washing line. There is a short, pathway servicing the houses on Coastguard Row, of which Mousehole Cottage is the first; the path splits to the right and a minutes walk, takes you to the East side of the harbour. Turning away from the harbour you can follow a coast path along the shore line towards Newlyn; don’t miss the small tidal swimming pool for a refreshing dip! Guest access This beautiful detached Cornish Cottage is all yours during your stay! There is a key safe at the property and the location and code will be shared with you 2 weeks prior to your stay. Other things to note FAQ's Inclusive electricity, Central heating (winter only), Fast WiFi broadband. The house is fully cleaned before your arrival and all bed linen, towels (including beach towels) and the final laundry are included in the price. Initial basket of logs provided in the winter. Pets are welcome at this property, max 2 (unless by prior agreement), a £25 pet fee per pet will be charged. Fast WIFI, Smart TV, central heating. Dedicated parking space for one car - Not suitable for very large vehicles - the total space available is 2.45m (8ft), next door neighbour has a space next door so please park considerately. A second car can be parked in nearby Public car park at an additional cost. There is a garden table, chairs & charcoal BBQ. Central heating & Wood Burner for winter months. Kitchen includes double oven, hob, large fridge / freezer, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and blender.
