Hortus House

Don't get fooled by the first impression from the street! Hortus House is a unique place, situated in an old house with a wealth of stories to tell and a magnificent garden featuring stone sculptures and lush trees. This is the lungs of our neighborhood! Located a 15-minute stroll from the old center of Ljubljana, where you will find peace away from the crowds. We refurbished part of our family house and turned it into a pleasant and comfortable place for up to 4 people, waiting just for you! The space Hortus House is a full apartment with a private entrance and offers 40 square meters of space ideal for 2 people sharing a double bed (180x200cm). Two more people will get to sleep on an extended sofa in the living room. There you will find a 46-inch TV with hundreds of channels, including HBO Max, Cinemax, Cinestar, etc... and a Chromecast player for streaming from your own devices. A portable baby cot and a high chair can be provided for small children. In case you get tired of many great restaurants in Ljubljana, you have everything you need to show your cooking skills. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, microwave, dishwasher, a full set of utensils, plus all basic ingredients (seasoning, olive oil, vinegar, ...) and fresh herbs from our garden. A coffee/tea machine, a kettle, and a toaster are available as well. The bathroom is large and bright with a thermostatic shower and has floor heating like the rest of the apartment. Air conditioning can be used for additional comfort. A washing/drying machine is installed in the bathroom, with detergent provided. We take the time to thoroughly clean and sanitize the apartment. To ensure everything is perfectly prepared, we avoid same-day guest turnovers and always leave at least one day between check-out and the next check-in. We only have this one listing, and we handle all the cleaning ourselves instead of hiring a service. This means the same person takes care of everything, and my wife, Urša, takes her duties very seriously 🙂. Our cancellation policy is Flexible: you can cancel your stay up to 24 hours before check-in for a full refund (that’s by 3 PM the day before arrival). Guest access You will have the entire apartment to yourself. It is part of our family house but fully separated, with a private entrance. Free parking is available in the backyard behind secured gates. A gazebo, hammocks, and garden chairs in front of the apartment are all there for you to enjoy. We also provide two bicycles for our guests, free of charge. Other things to note Please note that an extra city tourist & promotional tax 3,13 EUR per person per night is charged in cash during check-in (1,57 EUR for persons between 7 and 18 years of age). Small, clean, and well-behaved pets may be welcomed, but please inform us about that before booking. Our family dog, a Labrador Retriever named Hugo, lives with us. He may sometimes greet you with a bark, but don't worry — he’s very friendly. If you are uncomfortable around dogs, just let us know and we will make sure you don’t run into each other.
