Comfortable Design-Stay - 5 min to Lake Starnberg

The MOUNTAIN apartment is located in our historic 1890 coach house, just a five-minute walk from Lake Starnberg and around 200 m from the Possenhofen S-Bahn station – Munich can be reached in about 30 minutes. The spacious loft with an open roof structure, fully equipped kitchen, large dining table, design bed and hanging chair is ideal for a quiet break or remote work. The coach house offers three apartments (LAKE, MOUNTAIN, FOREST), which can be booked individually or in combination. The space Over 150 years ago, while Empress Sisi spent her childhood in Possenhofen Castle, the duke’s personal physician built Villa Fischer. On its grounds stands the listed Remise, formerly a horse stable and coach house. In 2015 we – Katrein and Gregor – restored it and transformed it into three high-quality holiday apartments. Our renovation focused on design, comfort and ecological materials. Each apartment features solid oak floors from local trees, designer beds, vintage furniture and walls painted with water-based colours by Little Greene. Bathrooms include eco-friendly products from “Stop the Water While Using Me”, and the beds are made with soft organic cotton. The MOUNTAIN apartment is a 54 sqm, light-filled loft on the upper floor with an open roof structure. It is perfect for two guests; with an extra bed, up to three can stay. Warm grey tones, carefully chosen vintage pieces and a hanging Dedon “Swingrest” chair define the atmosphere. Other things to note We have been living in Possenhofen since 2010 as a colourful patchwork family with seven children and two cats. We love life on Lake Starnberg. The beauty of nature. The proximity to the mountains. The lake on our doorstep, the forest behind the house and the S-Bahn around the corner to get to and from Munich quickly. And we love our home in the ‘Villa Fischer’, right next door to the Remise. Nevertheless, we enjoy travelling around the world a lot and are happy to live in tasteful and comfortable rooms. We approached the renovation of the Remise with this in mind. The flats are furnished in such a way that our friends and guests feel as comfortable in them as we do.
