Situated at the entrance to Netherwood House, Netherwood Lodge is a walker's paradise and the perfect base to enjoy the Scottish landscapes. The views from the property are stunning too. The space A stay at Netherwood Lodge puts you at the heart of some of Scotland's most iconic scenery and culture. From the undulating hills to fast-flowing burns and acres of forests, there's so much to explore right on your doorstep. Just up the road is the nature reserve of Caerlaverock Castle, with a wide variety of birds, wildflowers and wildlife for the keen-eyed nature lover. Enjoy a walk in the rolling landscape and then come back to your welcoming holiday home to relax. Stow your walking gear or bicycles in the handy store room, then wander into the spacious open-plan living area and enjoy the warmth from the wood-burning stove There's underfloor heating in the main living areas to keep you cosy too. The whole property has been beautifully refurbished to give you contemporary comforts throughout. Netherwood may feel wonderfully off the beaten track, but amenities are very close at hand. The historic market town of Dumfries is just 1.5 miles away, final home of Scotland's national poet Robert Burns. There's plenty to see in the town, including sites linked to Robert the Bruce, as well as one of Scotland's oldest bridges. Additional Information: An external three pin socket is provided near the parking area for charging electric vehicles and providing power to camper vans. Guest must bring their own connector and cable. A daily charge of £5 will be payable direct to the owner to use this facility. One well-behaved dog welcome (small additional charge). Please ensure your dog is not allowed in the bedrooms or on any furniture, thank you for your consideration. A travel cot and highchair are available on request. Guest access All Ground Floor Accommodation: Entrance hallway leading to a large open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting room with door opening to the garden. Sitting room area With a wood burning stove, Freeview television and a digital radio. Kitchen/dining area With an electric oven and hob, large fridge and dishwasher. Dining table with seating for four guests. Utility room With a washing machine and tumble dryer. Bedroom one With a 6' super-king size bed (can be configured as twin single beds on request), and en-suite shower room. En-suite shower room With a shower, wash basin and WC. Bedroom two With a 5' king-size bed. Family shower room With a shower, wash basin and WC. Outside: Two patio areas, one with a gas barbecue and picnic bench, one west-facing with a table and four chairs. Parking for two cars.
