La Maison Masson - Manor house & swimming pools in Burgundy

A family home and former hunting lodge with 2 swimming pools, this authentic and charming residence, whose construction was completed in 1777, is located in Burgundy, in the heart of the Brionnais, in the village of Melay. Located next to the church and overlooking the village, the house with its park enjoys a great calm and a view overlooking the village and the surrounding countryside. Shops (supermarket, catering, cafe and tobacconist) are within easy walking distance. The space Weekday rental (excluding school holidays): arrival on Friday 5pm & departure on Sunday 5pm The house, consisting of 8 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, has retained many 18th century architectural, furniture and decor elements while having great occupancy comfort for an enlarged group. The large kitchen with its central island ideal for aperitifs, the large dining room with its monumental fireplace (do not hesitate to make a fire: the annual maintenance is ok and logs are available in the woodshed, near the gate) as well as the small living room will allow you to enjoy the conviviality of the place with ease, with family or friends. The indoor tables (kitchen and dining room) and garden have 16 seats. 7 double bedrooms (160 beds) located upstairs and 1 bedroom on the ground floor (convenient for people bothered by the stairs) offer comfortable accommodation capacity for 15 people. 4 of the bedrooms are en suite with their private bathroom, and 2 bedrooms can accommodate families with bunk beds for children (a total of 6 beds of 90cm ) as well as1 bb bed. 1 large shared bathroom on the ground floor serves the family rooms. 1 additional shower located in the aquatic area available. The 5,000 m² garden features a large pergola and a large table for shaded summer meals, a plancha, a swing, a hammock and deckchairs, and a table tennis table. By municipal decree, it is forbidden to use wood-fired barbecues during certain periods, particularly during the summer: you will therefore have a gas plancha. ● an outdoor summer swimming pool - unheated - accessible from 15 June to 15 September (replacement of the liner for the 2026 season) ● an indoor aquatic area in an annex (the old stables) facing the house with: - a heated indoor swimming pool, which will also be accessible throughout the summer of 2026 due to the heatwave. Otherwise, from 1 September to 30 June (at 28-29°) - a large sauna for 8/10 people and a shower -> closed in summer. - Sliding floor-to-ceiling windows opening into the garden in case of good weather. Important parties and events are not allowed in our premises: the rental is offered for a maximum of 15 adults and the house cannot gather other groups staying nearby. The use of the pools is strictly reserved for our guests. VILLAGE FESTIVALS IN MELAY => 14 and 15/08 with a large humorous costume parade, ball, funfair, garage sales, refreshments and snacks are also on the agenda. Large meal planned for the evening of 15 August with the inhabitants of the village (remember to book in advance with the town hall) Guest access The property is rented in its entirety. Access to the summer swimming pool and the water area in the annex, opposite the house (indoor swimming pool - sauna), is exclusively reserved for residents of the property => a maximum of 15 adults Other things to note Additional services, pricing and other information: The property is offered on a self-catering basis, with an optional end-of-stay cleaning service available as an additional service, charged on the website (excluding dishes and the fridge, which must be left clean). You can bring your own bed linen and towels, but you can also book this extra: • Bed linen for all beds: €200/stay (Beds to be made) • For the baby bed = bring your own sheets. • Bath towels: €60 for the entire cottage (1 towel per person) IMPORTANT => SUPPLEMENT TO BE PAID ON ARRIVAL: given the increases in energy price, an energy overload is applied in particular for the heating of the indoor pool and sauna from 1 OCTOBER => 30 MAY, i.e. • €75/day for a 2-day stay • €50/day from 3 days rental. Note: Garden and pool maintenance takes place on Fridays. The gardener will be on leave for the whole of August.
