GRANDVIEWHAUS is situated in the quaint National Trust town of Mt Victoria, in the breathtaking world heritage listed Blue Mountains, just 120km from Sydney and 1044m above sea level. The house is positioned on the western edge of the escarpment, looking directly into the Kanimbla Valley and close to climbing, hiking and canyoning. It was designed by its architect owner and offers relaxing comfort in a setting that is unique and nothing less than “spectacular”. The space This spacious open planned house has three levels, all with stunning views of the Kanimbla and Hartley Valleys. The main living level has a lounge area, library (complete with lots of holiday reading), a well equiped kitchen, dining room seating 11, breakfast area, conversation pit with open fireplace and a small bathroom. There is modern LED TV, DVD, HiFi console with Ipod docking and a selection of DVDs and CDs. You can connect to Wi Fi anywhere in the house. The well appointed kitchen contains a gas cook top, electric oven, built in microwave, pod coffee machine, dishwasher, two door fridge and freezer. It is well placed to do serious cooking as well as casual meals. Some basic ingredients are on hand e.g. organic olive oil, salt and pepper. On the lower level, off an additional communal lounge (with sofa bed) complete with gas fireplace, exists three bedrooms; all with stunning views. A modern bathroom (with bath), separate laundry, a workspace with coffee and tea making facilities completes this level. Bedroom 1 has a queen size bed and en suite toilet and bath. The bath is in an alcove off the bedroom and also has views over the valley. Soak, relax and enjoy the magic. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed that can also be split into two small singles on request. Bedroom 3 has a queen bed plus a single bed. The lower level common area has a sofa bed which can be converted into a double bed if needed. Also for bigger numbers, we can accommodate 11 (4 extra singles). The open loft is a great hangout retreat or kids. For the very young there is also a travel cot, high chair and a stair barrier for toddlers. Guest access OUTDOORS There are four deck/verandas. Alfresco dining can take place on two of the decks and in a large covered entertaining area which doubles as a carport when not in use. Please note that the house and property is located on the edge of the Blue Mountains National Park wilderness and is in close proximity to bush tracks, cliffs, etc and there is a dam and pond. These are potential hazards which should be respected and children need to be supervised. Other things to note The house offers year round welcoming accommodation for families, friends, hikers and executives retreat. It's a great place to relax and unwind ............ or continue working in quiet inspiring surroundings. Would also suit writers, artists, photographers, birdwatchers etc The house features sustainable architecture, energy conserving systems and strategies to mitigate against bushfires - eg the sprinkler system.
