The Lodge Waiheke Island sleeps 24

A 35 min ferry from the Auckland waterfront to relaxed Waiheke Island - a complete change of pace from the busy city. The Lodge is a comfortable self-contained accommodation for 24 guests in 5 bedrooms and second lounge with 3 1/2 bathrooms. Large main lounge plus living area, chefs kitchen plus a 2nd kitchen. Huge deck with beautiful views. Airbnb's website max is 16, we sleep 22 in bedrooms plus 2 in the SECOND lounge bunk bed. Note - cleaning fee includes Hotel quality Linen for all guests. The space Huge open plan living area with large chef's kitchen with large fridge and freezer with ice maker. Indoor dining table seats 10, The main lounge seats 12 with Denon media system, Sky TV with Sky Sport, DVD and PS3. Huge outside deck with tables for alfresco dining can seat 24+. Wifi covers the whole building with VDSL Broadband included. There is a second complete kitchen with fridge and freezer, oven and hob plus dining area which seats eight and separate comfortable lounge with two sofas and TV with freeview and DVD player plus a 6 foot Gunther grand piano for the musicians to enjoy. Glasses, cutlery, plates, dishes and side-plates for 24 plus food processor, bowls, oven dishes and so forth, plus an outside BBQ with gas so you can cook-up a feast. We just ask you leave everything as you found it - clean and tidy. Starter pack of tea, coffee, milk and sugar are provided together with all the condiments that you would normally expect to find in a kitchen. Just a note on the "cleaning fee" you see on Airbnb. This a one-time per booking amount that covers the supply of all linen and towel hire plus normal changeover cleaning and sanitation. This works on the Kiwi idea of "leave it as you found it" so does not cover damage or excessive clean-up. Guest access There are bean bags in the main lounge, relaxing hanging chairs on the lower deck and an outside Jacuzzi bathtub for one (or two) on the lower deck. Other things to note Because the Lodge is so large, we take a $1000 bond one week prior to guest arrival. This can be done by paying into the account provided or by providing a credit card for a credit "hold" where no money is taken, just security like a hotel. This is normally done by texting the card number, expiry and CVC to the owners mobile number provided - do not email a credit card number as email is not secure. Most of the time it is silent here. The private airfield nearby is used by prior appointment only. During peak periods in summer occasional flights of small light aircraft may occur with only the noise of a passing motorcycle. The airfield is grass so is generally closed in winter to fixed-wing aircraft. The airfield is not certified for night operation.
