Small bright house in exposed stones from the 13th for 2 people in a secluded hamlet near Cathar castles and beautiful gorges. Absolute calm, nature, hikes. Private terrace with table and deckchairs. Free WIFI. Access to the hamlet by an unpaved communal path for 2.2km, driveable about 25km/h, by all vehicles. Access to the house is via a staircase of about twenty steps. Private parking. The gite de l 'Erable is a small exposed stone cottage that will appeal to nature lovers and lovers of authenticity and history. Indeed, the hamlet Le Carcassès was built in the Middle Ages with the stones of the castle "Castrum de Carcassesio" destroyed in the 13th century. It's a living environment where you can accidentally encounter ants or other insects. If you are lucky, you can also see at nightfall wild boars, foxes or deer on the path as well as nozzles and vultures in the air. The gite de l 'Erable is a very bright little cottage. It has a view from the two east windows on the mountains and orchard. The other south window and front door have views of the private terrace. There is no human passage in front of the cottage (a cat passage may sometimes be possible:-)). If you look behind the 2m high wooden panels that preserve your privacy, you can see the rest of the hamlet Le Carcassès, which does not belong to us. So we don't control the view if you look over the wood panels. The neighbor's goats may occasionally be in the park located near the terrace. The mobile phone works best at the kitchen window and terrace, but it depends on the operators and you have the option to call via wifi (Watsap, Messenger). Within a year, we'll even have access to fiber. Please note there is no washing machine at the cottage. Your four-legged animals will enjoy the place, where they can walk in nature without the risk of being crushed. Here, no main road,no railway, or even plane that pass above the cottage. Access to the gite is via a communal unpaved road for 2.2km. It can be driven at about 20 km/h by all vehicles; but we do not recommend it for people who do not like unpaved roads. You can park at the bottom of the cottage, a parking space is reserved for you. Access to the gite is via a private staircase of about 30 steps. Our concern is your complete satisfaction, so we do not recommend this place for people with low mobility and people looking for the paved and sanitized streets of our cities. To this day, we have never kept a security deposit. Please bring your 140 linens and towels. If it's not possible, you can rent them (please let us know beforehand). Pet rate: €14/stay/pet. The cottage closes from November to April. Reopening in early May. Reservation from Saturday to Saturday in season. It is possible to arrive on the day at your convenience outside high season. Guest access A map will be arranged after you book. You will find the house very easily using this plan, especially since there are signs from the mailboxes: - If you are coming from Félines Terménès (Narbonne, Carcassonne or Lézignan), turn left 50m after the bridge towards Bordegrande and Carcassès. If you arrive from Mouthoumet (Arques, Couiza or Limoux), turn right in the direction of Bordegrande and Carcassès. You are 7 min from the hamlet. - Follow the main paved road for 2 km (do not take the annex path on the right) - When you see the mailboxes, take the unpaved communal road on the left. The course is arrowed from the mailboxes. - Continue on the dirt road for 1.5km. Stay on the main path. - 1.5 km after the mailboxes, arrived at a crossroads, take the path to the right in a field indicated by a green "gite" sign (on the left, the GR; in the middle the access path to the hamlet Le Carcassès). - Follow the directions to the plan provided after booking. Other things to note Please bring your own sheets, towels and tea towels. If needed, it is possible to rent them. The barbecue is an electric barbecue to avoid any risk of fire, since you will be in the middle of nature. We are flexible for your arrival time, but in case of rental just before you, it is possible that the cottage is only ready at 3pm or 4pm maximum. But, in general, it's possible to check in earlier.
