In the hollow of the valley, between sky and castles, the Maison du Petit Bois opens its shutters to you. Former farm of the Château de Marqueyssac, this charming cottage is nestled in the family estate of Bois de Selves. It is an exceptional place in the heart of the Périgord Noir, rated 5* by the Tourist Office. From the moment you arrive, the view is breathtaking: a 360° panoramic view of the iconic castles of Beynac, Fayrac, Castelnaud and Marqueyssac. Reality is far away. Here, we get to the point. The space Carefully restored, the buildings of Grand Bois and Petit Bois, two family houses, shared between the owners, living on site, their two little cats and the guests. The gîte, the Petit Bois, mixes Périgord authenticity (exposed beams, blonde stones, monumental fireplace) with elegant and warm decoration: family furniture, bargain finds, patiently chosen objects. The atmosphere is simple, gentle, comforting. The house, completely independent, accommodates up to 10 guests in five bedrooms, spread over three levels: On the ground floor: - A large single-storey suite, with direct access to one of the terraces, en-suite bathroom: double sink, bathtub, shower. - A bright living room, with open kitchen and friendly dining room, overlooking the outdoors, on both sides of the house. - A very well-equipped adjoining pantry. - An elegant living room with beautiful exposed beams with a majestic stone fireplace equipped with a wood stove. On the 1st floor: - Two double bedrooms: -> One with ensuite bathroom (bathtub, double sink and amenities). -> The other with separate shower room, equipped with a walk-in shower, sink and toiletries. On the top floor: - A nice double bedroom under the slope. - A dormitory room ideal for children, with two single beds, and a beautiful view of the valley. -> A shared bathroom, with shower, double sink and amenities. A separate toilet is also available on the ground floor. A private laundry room (washing machine, dryer) completes the services, ideal for extended stays. Outside, the Bois de Selves reveals itself: Two stone terraces frame the Petit Bois, a large garden open to the valley, shaded corners to read, dream or share a dinner. The salt pool (5x15 m), the vast pool house with a spectacular view, the vegetable garden, the fish pond, the Grand Bois and the petanque court form a peaceful, lively, poetic picture. We have 4 chickens that we release during the day and we have 2 cats too. Just minutes from the most emblematic villages of Périgord (5 min from Beynac, 5 min from Castelnaud and La Roque-Gageac, 15 min from Sarlat), the Maison du Petit Bois is a rare place, at the center of the wonders of Périgord Noir.
