Low Jock Scar Country Estate must be one of the area’s best kept secrets. Head just a few miles North of the historic market town of Kendal where the unspoilt Fawcett Forest dips into the Bannisdale Valley and there sits Low Jock Scar. Tucked alongside the banks of Bannisdale Beck where the sound of the babbling Beck creates an athmosphere like no other and captures perfectly the unique charm of this idyllic location. Bannisdlae Bridges – high and low, both listed, – mark the boundary, with the high bridge sitting on the route of Wainwrights Horseshoe walk. This delightful cluster of properties sits in several acres of mature gardens and woodland where guests are welcome to meander through the colourful grounds and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the location. With the changing seasons the woodland creates an ever-changing environment to be enjoyed. The bluebells create a carpet of blue in late Spring while the glorious colours of Autumn leaves are hard to beat. Guests will be delighted to spot that the grounds are often frequented by a wide variety of birds and wildlife including woodpecker, deer and hares. Located in the ‘Gateway to The Lakes’ Low Jock Scar provides an ideal base for guests who are looking to explore. Whilst it may be difficult to drag yourselves away from this perfect spot, both The Lakes and Dales are easily accessible. Head East to Sedbergh, Dent and Hawes or West to Windermere and Bowness. Equally within easy reach for a day out are the Northern Lakes with Ullswater and Haweswater less than an hour’s drive. For guests looking to stay local, walks and cycle routes for all abilities can be found. Just a few miles away, the town of Kendal offers something for everyone. A popular historic market town, Kendal provides a castle, historic buildings and its famous ‘yards’, a riverside setting, shops for all and a great selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants to be enjoyed. Low Jock Scar accomadates 18 persons in total The space Low Jock scar is 4 individual cottages, Riverside Cottage 4 bedroom all on-suite 3 king beds 1 twin. Butterfly Cottage 3 bedroom 2 King 1 Twin 2 bathrooms Tulip Cottage 1 King on-suite Lily Cottage 1 King on -suite All cottages self contained, Riverside a super large dining area for all guests Log burners in all cottages bar Lily 2 hot tubs, the first under cover in a wood shed in the woods,the second hot tub on a raised platform on the side of the river. There is a decking area for bbq with large table and chairs. Riverside cottage is large enough for 18 guests to dine and entertain in,all of the cottages are very close to each other. Guest access Guest have the freedom of all of the cottages booked on a group booking and access to 6acres of woodland and mature gardens Other things to note Please note we Do Not accept pets.
