Tewksbury Lodge is a 4.5 star Log Cabin, located 5 mins drive from Bright, with great views of Mount Buffalo, nestled beside the Ovens River. You’ll love the Lodge which offers the unique experience of an authentic, hand-crafted log cabin. The tranquil setting, the cosiness of the Log Cabin, spa, log fire, comfy beds and leather recliners offer an accommodation experience difficult to find elsewhere in Australia. The Lodge is self catering and good for 1 or 2 couples or families with kids. The space A sure-fire way to rack up some cheer is to stay in an authentic handcrafted log cabin. The Lodge is set toward the rear of our 2 acre leafy property in Porepunkah, just five minutes' drive from Bright. It is built in a traditional Canadian-style, so you can rest assured it will handle any conditions that Australian weather can throw at it. A log fire and spa keep the cold at bay in winter, and reverse cycle A/C keeps you cool in summer. And operations are carbon-neutral, thanks to solar panels, double-glazed windows, a skylight and the super-insulating powers of 30 tons of plantation logs. The open-plan lounge-dining-kitchen area is spacious. There are two bedrooms. One has a king sized bed and the 2nd has a queen-sized bed. The lodge has a large bathroom with a separate shower and spa bath. You can find your inner Daniel Boon here, from fishing for trout to swimming in rivers. Boone might have roughed it, but this is a comfortable getaway that is also geared for cycling, wineries, foodie delights and lazy summer nights on the large verandah with your own barbecue. Guest access Please be aware we do live on the property in a separate home, so we are available as required. However we respect your privacy and will leave you alone to enjoy your stay and the peace and quiet, unless you contact us. The Lodge is set toward the rear of our 2 acre property, in a shady landscaped garden. There is a relaxing swing seat and a fire pit overlooking the Ovens River, which is just a stones throw away. The area around the cabin at the rear of the property is reserved for guest privacy, but guests are certainly free to enjoy the rest of the grounds. Other things to note Firewood: Fire pit: Low quality camp fire wood for the outside fire-pit is usually available free of charge, all year round. Inside fire: During winter we provide a complementary supply of fire wood to get you started, so you can fully experience the ambience of the log Cabin. Once your complimentary supply is used (or outside of winter months), firewood is available for purchase as required. Firewood is also available from local service stations and hardware stores.
