Captain's House Serifos, a unique experience!

The house is an original stone town house that dates back to the 19th century and belong to my family since then. If you want to have a unique experience, you are welcome to Captain Yiorghis House! The house has two bedrooms with double beds, a living room (sala) and a dining room, as well as a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Enjoy our home made wine in the terrace , and prepare your dinner to the kitchen with fresh rosemary and oregan from our garden! The space Captain's House is an original stone town house with high ceilings and wooden floors, among the very few of Serifos as the traditional houses in the island are quite small. Some techniques, such as the marble technique in the hallway and the cornice that crowns the façade of the house are typical examples of neoclassical buildings. In 2017, we decided to restore our family house so as to keep its original atmosphere. It was a long procedure that is still going on as the house always requires our care. We are happy to see the result and that we have kept the authenticity of the house through a modern approach so as to make our guests stay comfortable. Guest access You can come to the house from the port by bus or by taxi. It is only 5 minutes drive from the port. There are some steps to reach the house, about 30 meters from the main road, on the traditional path A1 that connects Livadi to Chora. The house is situated in Kato Chora, next to the Primary School and the Folklore Museum. The museum's collection features objects of the traditional life of the island, but also samples of the mineral resources of Serifos. There is also an open theater where a range of cultural events are held in summer. Chora is built amphitheatrically on a rocky hill gazing the island from the top. In its narrows streets, you’ll find some bars, cafés and tavernas, bakery and mini markets. Do not miss walking up to the Venetian castle, built in the 15th century, to amaze the view of the blue sea! Livadi (the port), at 3 kilometers from the house, is the touristic center of the island, where you can find the post office, travel agency, bank, ATM, petrol station, super markets and several restaurants, bars and clubs.
