Our converted barn (old chalet) is situated in Val d’Herens, Valais on a sunny south-facing (1600m) slope below the small village of Eison La Crettaz (Saint-Martin). Our 200-year-old barn (old chalet) is surrounded by nature with a clear view of the Valais Mountains. The outside old-look was perfectly preserved (monument conservation); the inside of the barn is renovated in a modern way. It is ideal for a break from every day life. Beautiful walking-tours (in winter with snow-shoes) are available from the front door. The barn is very suitable for couples (max. 4 adults) and for families (up to 2 adults and 3 children). The entire barn is available (67 m2). On the ground floor are the main-entrance and the living room (25 m2), which is equipped with a wood burning stove and a sofa bed (1.40 m wide), from where one can enjoy the unique view of the mountains. A toy-box for the small guests also offers distraction. The extension in the back (10 m2) contains the storage room with washing machine and dryer as well as the bathroom with shower and WC. On the upper floor is the dining room (25 m2), the open kitchen with a central wood heating cooking range and 2 mobile electric cooking plates, one electric oven and one dishwasher. The whole kitchen facilities with Nespresso machine, raclette oven and fondue service are available as well as a table and chairs and outdoor grill. Our natural terrace with outdoor furniture and umbrella is directly accessible from this room. On the gallery is the “dormitory” for 4 to 5 persons (2 mattresses 1.4m on slatted bed base. Our nice neighbour who lives in the village above hands over the keys. We are not present. Eison la Crettaz is a small, authentic Valais village in the parish of St. Martin in the quite, wild, gentile tourist Val d’Hérens. The valley has 4 skiing areas and cross-country skiing (both about 30 minutes driving distance of the barn), 85 km of snowshoe trails and many other winter activities. In the summer you can go hiking, cycling, mountaineering, rock climbing, paragliding etc. and if you are lucky you can even see an Eringer cow fight. Eison la Crêttaz is easily accessible both by car and by public transport. By car: You reach Eison La Crettaz from Sion in about 35 minutes. Public parking (free) is available. By bus: From Sion railway station is a bus to Eison La Crettaz. From the car park/bus stop there is about an 8 minutes walk to the barn (310 meters). For the approach on foot from the village we advise you to utilize back-bags (or rucksacks) and not roll-suitcases. The price utilities, firewood, bed and bath linen and tourist taxes are included. For babies / children there is a travel cot, a changing mat, extra down quilt / pillow with matching covers and lots of toys for indoor and outdoor.
