Our roomy, 3 story home is a perfect family get away year round; winter's cozy w/ the pellet stove ! Kitchen is fully equipped w/ variety of spices for gourmet meals, Kitchen Aid mixer, Instapot & more. The dining room seats 8 with extra leafs & a gorgeous hutch. Outside is a fire pit & a front porch with Adirondack chairs shaded by trees. Guests may use two provided kayaks , bikes & our canoe. There's a basketball court walking distance to town center & the public beach is across the street. This peaceful, pet-friendly home surrounded by friendly, year-round residents is located directly on the snowmobile/ATV trails and is within walking distance to downtown's restaurants, shops and the nearby tennis/basketball courts! Also across the street is a public life-guarded sandy beach. Just a short drive away, you'll find the local hospital, churches, museums, sea plane rides, fishing and moose watching guides, hiking trails, grocery store, coffee and ice cream shops and a gift/sporting store at Indian Hill for tackle, footwear, clothing, gifts and souvenirs. The back porch of the Farm House cafe, a must visit location, with delicious homemade goodies, provides a stunning view of Moosehead Lake and many of its islands first viewed from the top of Indian Hill before the descent into Greenville Center. ABOUT MOOSEHEAD LAKE Moosehead Lake, which measures 25 miles by 40 miles, is the largest lake in the Northeast and the largest lake fully contained in one state with over 400 miles of shoreline. The lake, once home to various Native American tribes, boasts of over 80 islands - one of which includes Mt. Kineo, accessed by boat it is climbable with breathtaking views. Fishing is abundant for anglers in search of an amazing year-round experience. You can take a ride on the Katahdin for an awe-inspiring tour of the lake or take a seaplane ride for additional spectacular views. Miles and miles of trails envelop the area for skiers, hikers, and ATV and snowmobile riders; the less adventurous can enjoy the many shops and museums unique to the area and the region. Many restaurants, some with lake views and lake docks, provide delicious dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Pritham Ave is named after the famous Greenville, Maine area doctor in the early 20th century. One can expect to see deer across the street in the early morning and later in the day, people of all ages walking and riding bikes on the sidewalk viewed from the front porch. Pritham Ave is also part of the ATV trail and again, one can see people of all ages and walks of life riding their ATV's on their way to miles and miles of logging roads that traverse the area. The fourth of July parade passes right past The Pritham House and leaf colors are spectacular in the Fall. The early Fall is also the time for craft fairs and when the internationally celebrated "Fly In" brings sea planes from all over! There is ample parking at locations of interest or recreation in Greenville - no public transportation. Daily rental rate includes State of Maine 9% Occupancy/Lodging Tax.
