Very large 3* cottage in an equestrian farm

With family and/or friends, come and recharge your batteries in our equestrian farm Le Mas Bas Orthoux, by the river (or the pool in summer). Our large 3-star cottage awaits you north of Sommières, at the foot of the Cevennes. And for a party, an intimate wedding or a seminar, you can also rent the guest room and/or the reception room (up to 50 people). The space Open year-round. Rental 2 nights minimum, except for some holidays (Ascension: 3 nights) and in high season (7 nights minimum between Sunday 10 and Saturday August 23, 2025 / arrival and departure: Friday, Saturday or Sunday). No automatic booking, because we want to communicate with our future hosts beforehand (privileged families, because calm is priority on the estate). The comfort and charm of a large new cottage in an old 16th century Mas, on a 3 hectare estate surrounded by nature. The beauty and calm of the countryside, overlooking the river, facing the Pic Saint-Loup and the foothills of the Cevennes. The simple happiness of a life on the farm, in the middle of horses… This is the guaranteed change of scenery that we offer for a weekend or your holidays with us. The cottage is located on the floor of the Mas where we live. It is accessible by an independent entrance (opposite the owners' living space and the bed and breakfast). With a surface area of 180 m², to which it is necessary to add an open terrace of 80 m², it is designed, rented as a whole, for groups of up to 10/11 people. The cottage is composed of an entrance, a very large living room (kitchen, dining room, living room) overlooking the terrace (with barbecue), a second living room, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms / WC. The cottage benefits from the greatest comfort (hotel quality bedding, fully equipped artisan kitchen, TV, Internet network, air conditioning in common areas...), without sacrificing anything to the charm of a decoration mixing modern elements with original structures and objects (high ceilings of limed wood, heritage of the old hay attics; old stable door; old everyday agricultural objects...). Reminder! Despite its large area, we do not allow meals and/or parties in the cottage beyond the number of beds (10/12 people). If you want to organize a meal or a party beyond this capacity, our reception rooms can be rented in addition to the two accommodations (cottage and bed and breakfast). The cottage is rented either as a whole in high season (with the 4 bedrooms and the Camargue living room acting as the 5th bedroom / rates displayed in this listing), or only in part (see in the photos the map for the 3 spaces of the cottage / Mediterranean, Camargue, Cévennes). Given our specificity (equestrian farm), we are able to welcome riders wishing to come and spend their holidays with their horses (individual or collective paddocks, riders' house to store equipment safely, maps and tips for loop hikes...) or with horses rented on site. Special offers for equestrian stays. Ideally located between Camargue and Cévennes, halfway between Montpellier and Nîmes, Mas Bas Orthoux offers the possibility of A LA CARTE HOLIDAYS... RELAXATION vacations: you can stay on the Mas or nearby for a "chill and slow" stay. Attention! Pool open only between the end of May and mid September. NATURE version holidays: walks, mountain biking or star horseback riding from the Mas; hikes around the Pic Saint-Loup (20 minutes from the Mas) or the Mer des Rochers in Sauve (15 minutes away); river (swimming and fishing) at the bottom of the property... SPORT version: quad base 10 minutes from the Mas; horseback riding 30 minutes away; canoeing in the Hérault gorges... SEA version: the Mediterranean 45 minutes from the house. Guest access Uncovered and unheated salt POOL (from May-June depending on the weather to September): the very large swimming pool (16 m by 7), located behind the stables, is sheltered from sight and accessible from 9:00 to 19:00. It is shared with any guests of the bed and breakfast (2 to 4 people), located on the ground floor of the Mas, opposite the cottage. PETS: The paddocks of our horses and those in boarding are located around the cottage or nearby. We look forward to sharing our passion for our "little ones", but always safe.
