The island "Kleine Birke" is located on the ground floor, and the island "Wörth" is on the first floor of the apartment complex. With us it is quiet but still central. The most important things are within walking distance: - Free swimming area (150 meters) - Murnauer public swimming (5 minutes) - Seehauser public swimming (10 minutes) - Boat rental (10 minutes) - Seehausen passenger ship (10 minutes) - Bakery and a small grocery store (10 minutes) - Murnau train station (15 minutes) - Murnau am Staffelsee market (20 minutes) You will stay with us in the immediate vicinity of the lake. A small public lawn and access to the lake are only 150 meters away. The "Murnauer Strandbad" is about 5 minutes walk and the "Seehauser Strandbad" is about 10 minutes walk. You can explore Lake Staffelsee in different ways, on the one hand with a rented rowing, pedal or electric boat and on the other hand by means of the "passenger ship Seehausen," a lake tour with some stops, approx. 80 minutes. Entry points, as well as the boat rentals, are located at the respective beach baths. Lake Staffelsee can be wonderfully cycled around (20 km). If you do not bring your own bike, you can rent a variety of bikes (including e-bikes) from the local transport office. In cold winters, the frozen Staffelsee invites pedestrians and cross-country skiers to walk on it. Seehausen offers you a small grocery store as well as a local baker. Further shopping facilities, as well as pharmacies and drugstores, can be found directly in the market town of Murnau. The nearby, within walking distance, Murnau market has a lot to offer, including the beautiful town center with its listed pedestrian zone, many cafes, restaurants, museums, breweries, retail stores and supermarkets. The castle museum shows works by the "Blaue Reiter" (Blue Rider) and the work of the playwright Ödon von Horváth. The Münterhaus can be visited. In nearby Kochel am See you will find the Franz Marc Museum, in Penzberg the museum with works by Heinrich Campendonk and in Bernried am Starnberger See the Buchheim Museum. At a distance of about 2 km, you will reach the largest contiguous, naturally preserved moorland area of Central Europe - the "Murnauer Moos" - covering 32 km². Between several hiking trails you will also find the “Ähndl” refreshment point, where on beautiful days, both in summer and winter, you can enjoy a beautiful view over the moor to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Zugspitze.
