Spacious 2 bedroom apartment located on the 3rd fl. of a beautiful Victorian home in the Garden Court section of University City. Private entrance, 1 block from public transportation 14 mins. to Center City and a short 6 min. ride by bus, Uber or Lyft to UPenn, HUP & Drexel Univ. Restaurants, cafes, brewery and parks just blocks away. TV & free Wi-Fi; Includes common Living area with comfortable futon which can be converted to additional sleeping space. New appliances including washer & dryer. This spacious 900 sq. ft. 3rd floor apartment has 2 new soft queen beds and 1 thick futon and sleeps 5-6 adults or 4 adults and 2 kids equaling 6 comfortably. It has old Victorian charm with modern amenities. Beautifully refinished original hardwood floors. You can shower or luxuriate in the clawfoot tub. The hall has a collection of past to present prints of Philadelphia's changing skyline. Window air conditioning units cool the apartment. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, stove, frig, and small appliances for cooking or you can order from the many local restaurants that deliver. The apartment also has a washer and dryer. Indego (Philly's Bike Share) is just 3 blocks away. We are friendly and helpful. Please use the steps in front of the address. Walk up the breezeway and use the side door to enter. We live in a seperate lower section of the home, so when you stay, you have use of the entire 3rd fl. apartment and gain access to the building with the electronic auto-entry lock and to the apartment with a key lock to the 3rd floor apartment. The hall and stairs leading to the apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floor are a shared access way for the 2nd and 3rd floor apartments. We provide towels, linens, shampoo, conditioner, shower and bath gel, toilet paper, paper towels and all of the kitchen basics (pots, dishes, flatware, utensils, spices, oil, etc). You have access to any parking spot on the street and all parking spots on the street are free. Please do not park in front of or in the driveways beside the house or across the street from the house. They are not a part of this property. We want your stay to be comfortable. I will be at work when check-in time starts, so if you have any concerns, feel free to call or text me and I will respond as quickly as possible. My young adult children live nearby and may also be around. We are definitely available to offer support, recommendations and suggestions. The beauty of our neighborhood is that it has a wonderful diverse mix of people from all walks of life. Some have been in the neighborhood for 50 years, some have recently moved in. It's laden with trees and beautiful architecture. There are lots of green spaces and in the summer, musical concerts are held at both local parks. The Baltimore Ave. business district(3 blocks south) has an eclectic mix of shops and food offerings. A stroll down Baltimore Ave. will take you to Curio Theater where you might catch a play or Clark Park which host the farmer's market, Shakespeare in the park and a myriad of activities for every age. Philly is rated #4 on the Walker's score and University City is one of the neighborhoods that is rated as a walker's paradise. Philadelphia is one of the most bike friendly cities in the nation. The bike share is just 3 blocks from the apartment and has parking stations all over the city. SEPTA (public transportation) takes you to the historic and art districts and is 1 block north and will take you to the universities and hospitals. 2 blocks east is the bus that will take you to the train to get to the PHL Airport, Center City, Sightseeing, 30th St (Penn) Station and the suburban lines. The trolley on Baltimore Ave.(3 blocks south) will also take you to University of the Sciences, Penn, Drexel and into Center City and the Sightseeing district(downtown Philly). If you drive, street parking is available and free, but like most cities, the later you arrive, the tighter spots become. You may luck up and find a spot right in front of the house, but you may have to park 1/2 block away...rarely further. In addition , please remember that although all parking spots on the block and in the immediate surrounding area are free, you are not permitted to park in front of or in the driveway of the properties adjacent to and across the street from the house.
