A completely renovated 255 sq/ft studio nestled in the heart of downtown Lake Worth. Half a block from where all the cafes, restaurants, and shops begin! Your kitchen and bathrooms and have been completely remodeled with shaker cabinets, butcher block counters and stainless steel appliances. New flooring, bathrooms, lighting, AC and furniture including impact glass for peace and quiet. Your queen bed boasts a brand new memory foam mattress and down pillows, comforter with duvet covers. The space The Blue Tortuga apartments are located in the heart of downtown Lake Worth Beach and are an ideal hideaway for short or long-term stays. We are just 1.4 miles to the beautiful public beaches at the Lake Worth Beach casino complex which includes restaurants like Benny’s on the beach and other fantastic amenities including a fishing pier, picnic areas, beach services (umbrellas and chairs) and lifeguards at the ready. The Lake Worth Beach casino complex has other restaurants and shops as well as plenty of parking. Our 6 studios and one bedroom apartment at The Blue Tortuga are in a quiet historic neighborhood east of Dixie Highway called “The Lucerne” and are adjacent to the commercial and entertainment districts in downtown Lake Worth Beach. Just steps from your apartment you will find cafes, restaurants, art galleries, thrift and boutique shops, ethnic restaurants, Irish pubs, Pizzeria’s and fine dining. You will also find the post office, library, city hall, gym and other convenient commercial staples like Starbucks and The Dollar Store. There is a cute venue for local artists to perform at “The Lake Worth Playhouse” and plenty of places to enjoy live music downtown at the various pubs. Just on the other side of Dixie Hwy, you will find a microbrewery called Matthew’s Brewing with live music and food. Fine dining at restaurants like Paradiso, or Todd English new restaurant “Lula’s” are all within a 10-minute walk in these walkable beachside resort town. You can pick up all your necessities at Publix just a few blocks east or the Dollar store is just across the street. There is a little bit of everything in this eclectic seaside village called Lake Worth Beach! Less than a 10-minute walk away you will enjoy Bryant Park stretching over ½ mile along the intracoastal waterway which separates the downtown from the island of Palm Beach. Bryant Park is a great place to relax or take your dog for a walk. At Bryant Park you will also find a boat launch, an amphitheater and many areas that are perfect for relaxing and reading a book or picnic. If you are looking for another place to walk your dog, you can drive about 10 minutes to “Lake Woof” dog park at John Prince Park just east of 95. There are many amenities in this 726-acre park including campgrounds, bicycle paths, basketball courts, pickleball, splash park, tennis, volleyball, canoeing/kayaking access, nature trails and much more. Walking through this residential neighborhood you will find many locals walking their dogs in the mornings or afternoons. A few blocks north you will find the entrance to the Lake Worth Beach municipal golf course that runs adjacent to the intracoastal. About 10 minutes north on Dixie Hwy, you will find the brand-new municipal golf course called “The Park” in West Palm Beach which is a state-of-the-art facility that rivals many private clubs. At the south end of the municipal golf course, just a few minutes’ walk you can enjoy the Snook Islands natural area boardwalk and even launch a kayak or paddleboard. The outdoor and common spaces: We have a total of 4 apartments located in our building adjacent buildings. Each apartment is about 450 sq/ft feet. We have 5 off street parking spaces to the rear of our property along the alley for our guests, and plenty of free on street parking on Ocean Breeze. You will never have an issue finding parking. In the rear of our property in the private garden there is a small laundry room for our guests. There is no charge to use the washer & dryer. The common area in the back was created for our guests to enjoy the tropical south Florida environment. We created this space over the course of a year, and you will find several areas to lounge in the sun or under our louvered pergola on a large comfy couch. The area is professionally designed and beautifully landscaped with a water feature to add to the tropical and peaceful ambiance. At night you will enjoy the up lighting and there is excellent Wi-Fi throughout the backyard. There are also plenty of electrical outlets for your personal devices. To top it off there is a high-end outdoor kitchen which includes a top-of-the-line gas grill to cook your favorite meals and a mini-fridge and sink to enjoy your favorite beverages or make cocktails. The space was created with our guests’ outdoor comfort in mind with plenty of shade to relax. We have decorative lighting at night in these areas to enjoy the nighttime sights and sounds. We also do have security lighting and cameras outside of the property for added safety and protection. The indoor space: Our studio and one-bedroom apartments are very similar from one to the next outside of some minor differences. They have all been completely renovated and have each been professionally decorated to create their own unique vibe. They all have kitchenettes with 2 burner stoves and every cooking utensil we could think of to handle all your essential basic cooking needs to prepare meals. Each kitchen comes equipped with a 2/3 size refrigerator, stove, toaster ovens, microwave, toaster, Keurig coffee and standard coffee maker. We include some basic condiments like cream, sugar & salt and pepper. Our spaces come with a 42’ smart tv in the living area so you can stream all your shows on our lighting fast high-speed Wi-Fi. The queen-size bed has 12-inch memory foam and plenty of plush pillows. Each apartment has hurricane impact windows which are great to keep the cool air in and reduce the outside noise. In the winter you can easily open them up and let the fresh cool coastal air in. In the winter we provide an extra blanket and space heater if it ever gets too cool. Our apartments have modern split AC systems which are quiet and easy to operate. In our updated bathrooms we provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash and four bath towels and hand towels as well as wash cloths and make-up towels. We provide a hair dryer, small ironing board and iron, and in the laundry room you can find a small portable vacuum. If you like during our stay our clean team can come by and freshen up your space with new linens and towels and provide other cleaning services for an additional fee. Each apartment has a small closet or armoire with shelving and an additional storage closet for additional luggage. We provide hangers and beach towels as well. We try to think of everything a guest will need for a short or long-term stay but don’t be afraid to let us know if you need anything during your stay. We always know there are things that we may need to do to accommodate all our guests, so they enjoy their time with us and enjoy a 5 Star Experience! Keep in mind: TROPICAL FRIENDS: Be mindful that Florida is considered to be tropical. As such, there are variety of insects, birds, lizards, and frogs that call The Blue Tortuga home. Occasionally you will spot an insect, frog, or chameleon inside or around the residence. This is normal for Florida. Insects should be removed, but a frog or chameleon left alone will depart the residence on their own. Iguana's, rabbits, opossums, and even raccoons call Mango Groves their home. They are harmless and actually keep the mosquito populations in check. Please do not attempt to harm or harass them. We do have a preventative pest maintenance service come at the beginning of each quarter. We ask for your permission to allow them access to the apartment so we can stay on top of nuisance pests from entering the interior of each apartment. MAKEUP TOWELS: At The Blue Tortuga, we pride ourselves on providing each guest with a 5-star service and amenities. This includes clean, fresh, linens. We provide black makeup towels for your use. If you need more black makeup towels, just ask and we will bring some for you. Please DO NOT use the white towels to remove your makeup, lipstick, fake eyelash glue, or anything else that will cause stains. This causes stains that often cannot be totally removed. Unfortunately, these stained towels must be discarded so that future guests receive clean linens. NO PARTIES, RECEPTIONS, OR EVENTS: At this time The Blue Tortuga does not allow parties, receptions, or events. This is a residential neighborhood, and local ordinances dictate no loud music, noise, or partying after 10 PM. While the neighbors are aware of our Airbnb residence, they aren't very tolerant of excessive noise and partying. By booking you agree that if the police are called for excessive noise, partying, or other reasons you will be charged $500 and will subject to non-refundable cancellation of the remainder of your reservation. Guest access You have access to your own private one bedroom apartment with a unique keyless entry code, the secure laundry room with keyless entry and the two common outdoor areas behind the home that include two separate patios with seating, picnic table, grill and a hammock. There is fencing and lush landscaping for privacy but the area is not completely fenced in. There are shade sails to keep you cool and out of the sun, an outdoor shower, a small sharable herb garden, and an outdoor shower behind the gate. There are night lights set on a timer so you can enjoy the area after sunset. Please wrap things up by 10:00 p.m. if you are using the grill. Please leave everything the way that you found it for other guests to enjoy! There is at least one off street parking space available for each guest to use.
