Woodcutter's cottage - enjoy nature & unwind

Perfect for nature lovers, exercise and 4WD enthusiasts or those just wanting to relax. All the modern conveniences for comfort in both summer and winter with reverse cycle A/C & wood fired heater. Northern facing verandah to sit, relax and unwind while enjoying the birds and nature. Fully enclosed yard for children. The space The cottage has a lounge room with 3 - 4 seater sofa and 2 single arm chairs. A wood fired heater in the lounge room makes the house cosy in winter and airconditioning is in all areas (except bathroom/toilet area) will keep you cool in summer. The bathroom/laundry includes a toilet and another separate toilet in located next to the bathroom, making it ideal when a number of people are staying. The kitchen has been fully renovated and has gas stove top and electric oven and the original wood stove has been preserved. Modern appliances include dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso coffee pod machine, electric kettle, toaster, sandwich maker, full size fridge/ freezer. The dining table is situated in the kitchen area and seats 6 but can be extended if more space is required. High chair available for use. The kitchen is very well stocked with essential cooking utensils (and extras) and basic supplies are available in the pantry, including salt, pepper, oil, individual sachets of jam, vegemite, & peanut butter (supply not guaranteed), sugar, tea and coffee. Availability may vary depending on guest usage. The Nespresso coffee pod machine will have some pods to get you started, but bring your own favourites (Nespresso compatible) if you wish to have an ongoing supply. The front verandah faces north, looking across to some remaining jarrah trees and is the perfect place to sit, relax and enjoy the abundant bird life (including blue wrens, robins, "28" parrots, fantails, willywag tails and various honeyeaters to name a few) which come into the garden. They love the birdbath in the front garden and you will see a display in the mornings and afternoons when the birds come to drink and bathe. Its worth keeping it full to enjoy the show. The cottage is only 200m from the Dwellingup State forest which has many walking and mountain bike trails. It is only 5 mins walk into the main part of town and 10 minutes drive from Lane Poole Reserve and Nanga (popular wedding venue) The block is fully enclosed and there is a locked wooden shed at the back which can be used to store bikes if desired. The padlock key is on the house keyring with the front door key which you will have access to at checkin. Easy & free parking is either through the front gate or on the front verge Guest access The whole place is yours to use Other things to note As of winter 2025, (1st June to 31st August), we are asking guests to bring their own towels if possible. This is due to the extra time and cost required to dry washing in winter. If guests wish to have towels supplied, there will be an extra charge of $5 per towel during this time frame only.
