Red Top Mountain state park offers hiking, swimming, boating, kayaking, fishing, grilling. Many marinas & Bait-n-Tackle shops service Lake Allatoona, which is a half-mile walk through the woods. Formed by damming the Etowah River, this lake arcs all around our neighborhood, winding for 18 miles. History-minded? The railroad towns of Cartersville-Acworth-Kennesaw were the origin of General Sherman's March to the Sea, c.1865 and this area marks the beginning Trail of Tears banishing native americans to Arkansas...in Cherokee County, Georgia, museums surround & relics are still to be found hiking the woods. Lest you find us too quaint, visit *****Henry's Louisiana Grill***** a restaurant of national acclaim on main street in Acworth !! Chef Henry offers true value of delectable cuisine served with his unique southern hospitality. Every time I'm there, he goes 'round visiting each table as if they were his own personal guests, which of course you will be too. From his crate beside the washer-dryer, Foster-the-Weiner-dog will bark hello as you walk through his garage to the teen suite. If traveling with your own dog, we will arrange an outdoors meet-n-greet, for sniffing and lessening territorial behavior. Otherwise Foster is contained to yard, deck & home upstairs, safely out of your way. After the excitement of meeting, he will only bark if you want to play ball (extremely exciting, new folk to play ball with). Please note if you read Rozena's review, we do live in the woods.
